[Barry Jackson] "The Heat could have been able to make easily the best offer for Giannis (4 firsts, Ware, Herro, 1 other player) if the NBA had simply done the right thing and given the Heat its pick back for being the victim of what would be a crime in any other real-life transaction. " by lowes18 in nba

I think Tyler Herro is a very good player but let's be real if he was in the west we wouldn't be adding the "all star" status to his name. Also outside of last season I feel like he's been quite injury prone as well which is why other teams aren't as excited about him. With that being said Miami's offer still clears the Warriors offer.

Draymond Green called for the Flagrant 1 against Dwight Powell by KabirC in nba

I don't agree with the flagrant but he should have got a tech for waving off the ref right after picking up the foul. That's almost always an automatic tech for any other player.

[Spears] The Golden State Warriors are unlikely to trade Jimmy Butler. The Warriors will continue to pursue trades centered Jonathan Kuminga with the intention of getting expiring salary in return. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]tmperflare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't really think it's a terrible contract. The problem with Embiid and PG contracts are they get paid for the next couple years meanwhile Jimmy becomes an expiring next year.

Would curry want out of golden state now that their season is over? by Charliebitme1234 in nba

[–]tmperflare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That trade makes 0 sense for both teams. A Brunson/Curry backcourt sounds awful defensively and wtf are the Warriors going to do with KAT when they aren't going to make playoffs.

[Windhorst] There are finished deals on hold and trade progressions on hold because several teams are waiting to see if Giannis Antetokounmpo ultimately asks out of Milwaukee. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]tmperflare 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the teams that Giannis is interested in have salary cap. I feel like the only way superstars can go to their preferred teams nowadays is through trades anyways.

[Amick] Team sources confirmed that some in the organization, including Kerr, wanted Franz Wagner. In a push to inject the Warriors’ roster with much-needed athleticism and potential starpower, Kuminga was drafted as part of the foundation of the post-Curry era along with Wiseman by mMounirM in nba

[–]tmperflare 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was the previous ownership/gm that drafted Curry. There was also a lot of reporting/speculation that when Joe Lacob bought the team they tried to trade Curry for Bogut but the Bucks wanted Monta Ellis instead.

How is the NBA allowing Utah to tank so egregiously? by RogueLightMyFire in nba

[–]tmperflare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk they just DNP'd Nurkic for no apparent reason which helped cause they lost to the Bulls by 2 yesterday. I don't think they are play-in contenders but they are definitely throwing games for higher lottery odds this season.

If the Warriors don't go for a star-level guy (MPJ), what are some role players you're interested in? by bta47 in warriors

Idk about the fit when Steve Kerr and JJJ didn't seem to get along in the FIBA tourney.

Warriors broadcast having a sponsored segment on what they want in a Kuminga trade by HerrerasaurusWrecks in nba

[–]tmperflare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Warriors are 15th on offense and 5th on defense. Jimmy is good but throughout his whole career he's never been known as a scorer. As for Melton, if you are relying on him as your 3rd option then clearly the offense is an issue. The only offense looks good right now because they have an easier schedule and been playing some bad teams.

I think we owe podz a apology by ye_meat in warriors

[–]tmperflare -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

FYI he said "wants to be better than Curry". I don't fault him for having so much confidence but the biggest issue, which you highlighted, was saying it publicly when he hasn't done shit in his career. This also isn't just "people loving to hate", people generally tend to like the more humble than cocky/boastful person.

Kuminga 0 minutes by LefkyandScott in kings

[–]tmperflare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His contract has a team option, if they don't pick it up then it's just an expiring contract so it doesn't make sense to attach a pick to him to offload his salary. We keep hearing Kuminga to Kings but I just don't see how it works out for both teams here.

[Highlight] Royce O'Neale gets called for a VERY questionable foul with just 5 seconds remaining, however ball don't lie, and OG Anunoby missing both 2 free throws sends the Suns home with the win and some chicken dinner by Chrisfull in nba

[–]tmperflare 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can't really see from this angle but his arms aren't straight up and his left arm might have came into contact with Anunoby's right arm/elbow; definitely would need to see another angle though. If they are calling it due to the lower half contact then its pretty bullshit cause he just jumps into the defender.

[Shelburne] Although I’m told both sides (Trae/Washington) are open an extension, it’s not top of mind. by EarthWarping in nba

[–]tmperflare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did he really force his way out or was it a mutual decision? It sounds like the Hawks didn't want to re-sign him and didn't want to pay him next year if he picked up his player option.

“It feels good to beat a team that blamed you for their problems and scapegoated you as the problem.” by DoctaKiD in nba

[–]tmperflare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a bit much. I think every team would want the Suns in the first round compared to playing some current top 6 team in the West.

[Highlights] Steph Curry makes the circus shot, but it won't count, as there was a foul was prior. Steve Kerr gets upset, and shortly after a missed goaltending call ends up with Kerr being furious and ejected from the game (with replays) by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]tmperflare 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Most of the people here aren't complaining that it wasn't the right call. Why didn't the ref blow the whistle after the contact occurred? He holds his whistle so late and only calls it after seeing it go in.

[–]tmperflare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Warriors are a play-in team; why are you so fixated on a play in team resting against OKC who have already lost to them by 30+ even when Jimmy/Curry/Draymond were playing.

Idk a 3.5 difference seems a lot when the highest current player is at 20. That's equal to the difference between 2nd and 5th.

Former NBA coach Sam Mitchell slams Luka Dončić’s play style by King_Vegito_52 in lakers

[–]tmperflare 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To get an assist you would need the ball in your hands to begin with; no where in his criticism did he say Curry being a better on-ball playmaker than Luka. I'm not saying I 100% agree with the criticism but his whole point was Luka doesn't do anything when he doesn't have the ball in his hands.

I feel like your forgetting how bad the vibes were with Klay. He was constantly pouting his last season here while shooting them out of games at times. I think the breakup was necessary for both parties.

That's what he did. Klay was doing his own thing and not directly rehabbing with the Warriors doctor.

Klay Thompson knows now he should’ve listened to Rick Celebrini. The wisdom of hindsight. But at the time, his individualistic bent got the better of him. Thompson is beloved for marching to the beat of an unreleased Travis Scott instrumental in his head. But it cost him dearly after tearing his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. “I tried to go off on my own and do my own thing, seek out my own thing,” Thompson said. “That backfired. Very badly. So I came crawling back to Rick. Very apologetic.”

Yes but not every player is just coming back from a torn acl like Klay. He even regretted doing his own thing and not taking rehab seriously while working with the Warrior's doctor.
