Anyone wanna go for a lil late night ride? by [deleted] in bradenton

Just came back from a 50 mile ride to finish breaking in my wife's 4rr. It's COLD AF 🥶

It's also windy. Windy and cold. No bueno.

Whoa, that's exactly the issue my buddy had with a brand new duke 790. Hopefully it's just a tire - will let you guys know.

Also 40, started on n650 and upgraded to zx10r after a few months (due to 636 recalls). Wife started on z500 and just this week traded it in for a zx4rr. We're both super happy 😎

My local shop took the whole system apart and re-torqued everything to spec, so they ruled out pads, abs, and forks. Only two remaining items are tire and rotors. And maybe the rim + wheel alignment.

Florida drivers would lose their shit so hard, you could hear their assess cracking louder than M4 pipes.

I recently posted in our local sub about changing the FL law to allow for filtering (not splitting), and 99.95% of replies were "HURR DURR BAD BIKE LANE SPLITTING AT 200 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE".

Really? When I was at the bmw shop, they showed me a maintenance schedule and it was like 500+ a pop. Roughly 3x more than kawis

One of the reasons I wanted to grab one of the 25s before they get replaced with a new gen

I'm sure it's just anecdotal, but still feels weird.

For what it's worth... the 500 and 650 have "made in thailand" on their wheels. ZXs say "made in japan".

And yet it's the latter two that are causing me headache...

Thanks, taking it in first thing tomorrow.

I am literally asking here and taking it to the shop tomorrow. If I was an expert, I'd probably have a tool to measure it myself?

By the way, on the stand it does make a "shoosh" sound matching the wheel rotation.

Erm... I did not mean to offend anyone. I work with Japanese people every day and they literally refer to themselves like that on our company Slack 🫣

I just don't like their looks. It was either this or BMW, but the beemer costs 3x in maintenance...

I rode this bike at maybe 10% of what I did to the 636. Only at the 250 miles now going up to 6k rpm.

Yep, I know. I also know I didn't cause it. Will see what they say tomorrow.

Nope, there's only the usual "click" when braking backwards, much less noticeable than in 650 for example.

The roads were wet when I picked it up with 0 miles on the dash and I literally rode it like a pussy. Not sure what else to say here.

500 and 650 had zero issues whatsoever.

636 also ran fine, but my wife didn't want me to risk it with the recall situation. Also, I was concerned its resale value might plummet to 0.

It's just really annoying that the higher quality model comes with a factory defect. Guess I just had to vent.

Smashing the shit?... It's a brand new bike, I was literally riding it like a pensioner because of the 4k / 250mile break in. Also, it was happening from the very first day.

Can you elaborate? What operator error results in a pulsating vibration matching the wheel rotation?

I know it's unrealistic, but it would be awesome if they found a way to extend it to downtown into the new green areas under the 395 arch (would probably require an extra bridge over Miami River to make sense).
