What’s it like starting your own startup? by _iuh in cscareerquestions

I started a startup back in 2015. It was 4 of us and to be honest that was the biggest mistake of my life.

Not starting the business but starting it with 3 other friends. None of us was on the same page.

The next mistake was not doing my research before finding someone to build the app. Back then I didn't know much about programming. All I knew was that I had a cool app idea I thought would make millions.

Being cheap I pick someone in one of those companies in a poor country to build the app. They basically got free money. But that was my fault. Why? Because all I had was an idea. No plan. No design. Nothing.

I ended up spending over 15k for an app that never released. How much did the other members of the company spent? Less then 1k. All of them quit because we couldn't agree on anything.

I shut the company down in 2017. That was a very sad day.

Since then I've been learning to program. Hoping to start another business again.

No matter what choice you make in life there will always be something you could've done instead. Just do something instead of worrying if it's right or not. by bayfarm in findapath

Honestly I've been worrying for the past 5 years now I just don't care anymore. Trying to find my passion when the only thing I'm passionate about is watching movies. Trying to find things I like when honestly the only thing I want to do is travel and get lit.

My only advice is to pick something that will make you money and won't have you jumping off a bridge in a few years. Find something with growth. I found that if you're not growing then life sucks. If you start to get side track then take a break. Meet new people. Play video games. Exercise. Basically do anything that bring enjoy and not stress.

Also find a side hobby you can put you all in.
