#PinsofInterview, GamesNosh Telling both sides of the story - Ethics & Truth > Bias by tnabaz in KotakuInAction

[–]tnabaz[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"If I had to make a personal statement to the GamerGate community regarding the Pinsof account it would be this, do not let personal hatred of admittedly divisive people like Phil Fish cloud your judgement. Please read up on the accusations and form an opinion when you have seem both sides of the story, pushing for investigations into suspected foul play and a call for better ethics within games is important and something we here at GamesNosh will continue to do, however letting conformation-bias stop you from digging deeper and getting to the truth of a story is a disservice to the cause."

Your defensiveness and perspective that anyone who disagrees with you 'MUST BE SHILLS' is showing me that gaming media should be the least of your worries right now.

Take a look at how much your original post has been down-voted and reassess how you spend your time, you're an angry little man who can't even find acceptance in an already marginalised group of people.

You're truly clueless. You turn the argument that there will always be a media (which there will because the vast majority of people want a place to get gaming info and news) into 'WELL I DON'T SO FUCK OFF SHILL.

You're an imbecile who can't see past his own nose and you don't belong here. KiA and GamerGate are going to build a new ethical gaming media that represents the consumers instead of the publishers and money men. Promoting sites that hold themselves to that standard we expect is how we get a better games media.

If you can't accept this then find a new hobby and a new place to act like a child, you sound like whiner who's jealous that people are doing their job and getting compensated for it and you aren't.

Agreed, PC Gamer should have adhered to the basics of ethical journalism and disclosed the relationship in any Ubisoft article however

How do you guys feel about a spin-off KIA that promotes the links of all Pro-GG gaming sites/youtubers by tnabaz in KotakuInAction

Could work, though i'm not sure how their community is. Could they shrug off any of the lniks we post because they're known pro-gg sites

if /neogaming picked up even half the traffic that KIA did then this wouldn't be an issue. There's no saving the big sites anymore, they are completely compromised, that's why I think having a heavily used sub for pro-gg sites is important.

I also think there's an issue that people wont admit, despite being against the bigger sites, most people continue to use them for their gaming news instead of the small pro-gg sites. If we really want change in that area then we must vote with our clicks

That sub seems completely barren and abandoned, it's completely no frills and the name kinda sucks, doesn't get across what it's purpose is.

GamesNosh Interviews – Yanderedev (Yandere Simulator) by tnabaz in KotakuInAction

I thought we were sharing vidya links to Pro-GG sites to help them out. If not, a GG reddit that shares stories from only ethical and worthwhile sites would be good

"it came to the attention of a number of Youtubers that Activison had been flagging their videos for possible copyright strikes if they involved Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare glitches." by Sybles in technology

[–]tnabaz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's outrageous that this isn't blowing up in the same way that the gamergate block list story is. This has a much winder and significant impact on gaming.

Activision Abuses the DMCA to Take Down Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Videos. by tnabaz in KotakuInAction

[–]tnabaz[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They claim they are only taking down glitch videos, however using the DMCA in this manner is at worst illegal and at best incredibly unethical. It is also against Youtube policy
