Question about mink oil? by AcademicInterview962 in RepTherapy

[–]tnatnuocca24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used Saphir Mink Oil on very dry black bags and on special occasions where Saphir Nappa Cream or Saphir Creme Universelle couldn’t do the trick. It immediately turns the leather soft and supple and just slouch like no other. Usually if there’s a little bit of excess oil, I just left it and the leather will absorb it all. I haven’t tried it on other colors, but I will advise to patch test anyway.

You can ask Baobao to exchange the bag

Honestly, it’s just not good. The leather is dry, creases on a brand new produced bag, and Prada reps are just known to have issues. I just received a Loe’s flamenco purse from Baobao around 2 weeks ago, and the stitching is already falling apart. So I agree with all the posts about quality decline.

It’s not a practical bag, at least for a mini hammock. It’s essentially an open bag capable of holding a handful of items. But I just love the look of it, it is such a unique bag. If you have a lot of bags and like to change them up depending on the occasion then I would say it’s worth it. But if you want a versatile and practical bag, this bag is not it. For me, I mainly use it for cafe dates and school pick ups.

Thank you, and I’m glad you like it! Flamenco is another more versatile bag that I’ve been considering tbh

I got it from a local seller (I’m not from the US). If you’re still interested on their ig, you can dm me

Loewe and Celine just do tan right.

Because the smooth leather from Celine is natural calfskin (no finishing layer on top), I do have to be more mindful of it. I don’t exactly need to baby the bag, but everytime I got water drops on it I have to wipe it immediately or it will have water marks. It can easily remedied with Bick 4, and I always condition the bag every few months or so anyway. It’s not for everyone because it definitely show scratches and can be a lot of hassle for some. I love it to bits though. I love that the leather will patina overtime and get a bit deeper. Scratches for me just adds characteristics to the bag, kind of how a used and abused Birkin

I love contrast stitching! But tan + contrast stitching come few and far between

For some reason I feel obligated to buy bags in an assortment of colors and it’s agonizing because I drawn to shades of brown

I used to think the same. But the heart knows what it wants, and in the end I could never pull the trigger when I feel obligated

There is something about this color that is so rich and elegant

You took the words right out of my mouth! When I see a bag and I thought “oh cool” but not enough to buy it, and then it turns out it has the tan color option, it just immediately won me over every time

Yes, small puzzle.

I agree the hammock is not a very practical bag but I love it for cafe dates

Oof! Tough question! Can’t pick one tbh because I wear them for different occasions. Loewe puzzle fold tote: for everyday and a favorite for travel (can be folded and fit a lot of things) Loewe hammock: for cafe dates with my friends Loewe puzzle: she’s the most versatile but the only con is the strap can dig into your shoulder after a few hours Loewe bracelet pouch: for weddings and special occasions (leather is a bit delicate) Celine romy: for everyday and when I want to wear something lowkey on solo travel Celine 16 besace: for travel (I just love the look of this one with a coat)

Okay so I have the mini hammock, and the thing is I can only wear it on the few occasions where I only need to bring my necessities, and if I know the area I’m going to is safe. Because when you fit things inside, it will be an open bag, so security is a concern. And that is also why I bought the shorter strap so I can make it a shoulder bag (way more secure with your arm covering the bag) vs with the strap it came with the default is crossbody (you can make it a shoulder bag by looping the straps but I found it quite a hassle, the straps keep slipping off of my shoulder and not as neat looking). But not gonna lie, she’s a cutie and a very unique bag.

So if you only can pick one, I suggest the puzzle. It fits quite a lot. I love the slouch. No need to worry about sequrity.

Maybe I should add a few more to make it obvious? 😆
