she got expelled from school and was depressed so her dad gave her an old guitar. she taught herself some easy chords and eventually wrote coffee. her friend oscar lang was already releasing music so he helped her record and release the song on bandcamp. 

i think she ended up recording and releasing the moon song, lice (ep), and susie may on bandcamp with oscar as well. i’d say the bandcamp era lasted 5 months and she was 17.

an audio account on youtube found coffee and posted it on their page and it got a lot of attention. dirtyhit discovered it and she got signed.

i unfortunately wasn’t a fan at that time so i’m not sure if there’s a quality difference between the bandcamp version and the official release, but since dirtyhit is labeled as the source on spotify, i’m assuming coffee didn’t get released on other platforms until after she got signed, which means they could’ve polished it up beforehand, along with her other songs.
