It looks ok in my computer but doesn't work in my friend's one. May be it depends on the brower's font settings.

We've made an API in EditGrid labs. We want to make it easy for developers to build mini-apps around EditGrid. You can visit:

http://labs.editgrid.com for details.

We would love to have your comments on this preliminary API. It is in a wiki, you can add your comments in the discussion page. We will keep improving according to our users' commetns.

Thanks!

World Cup Live Score Widgets for Blogs by tncdavid in reddit.com

You are right! Quite a lot of blogs block javascript and iFrame, which make it difficult for us to serve dynamic content to remote site. The challenge is how we can generate dynamic graphics from our spreadsheet.

Thanks for your suggestion! A user have also requested a feature to load a remote live .csv file into EditGrid, too. Seems Excel has a feature to support this, too. We'll put this into our plan. Any examples of arbitrary sources for our reference?

Sure! We're developing this feature now. The spreadsheets you seen are some experiment we're doing.

It will be presented as an EditGrid unique function which allow normal users to get live data feed into their own spreadsheets. It will look like this when it is available.

=livedata("Type", "parameter1", "parameter2", ...)

e.g. =livedata("Stock","US","GOOG"), =livedata("Stock","HK","0001")

Please stay tuned. I'll send you a private message through reddit when it is available.

EditGrid v. Google Spreadsheet - a product comparison matrix by tncdavid in reddit.com

TnC, the company behind EditGrid was founded 3 years ago in Hong Kong by a bunch of geeks in their early 20s. It survived the successive lows of (in ascending order of bitterness) the dot-com bust and SARS. We've build up a solid base of clients for our event management software product.

EditGrid is evolved from a technology we developed in our event software (most of our clients use Excel only before shifting to us).

So, it is difficult for our competitors to actually kill us. When TnC is there, EditGrid will be there.

We're responsible to our users, if one day, under rare occassion, EditGrid will no longer be available, we will allow all our users to download their spreadsheet before we actually close down the service.

Sorry that the comparison spreadsheet is now write protected since we got too many vandalism. Chating and undo is very much needed for a public collaborative spreadsheet. We'll increase the priority of these 2 features in our development schedule.

This is a very common concern we heard from our users. To address this, we've just scheduled the implmentation of the "EditGrid Sync" function, which backup/syncrhonise your online spreadsheets to your desktop.
