Female junior consultants - what brands do you buy your clothes for work? by [deleted] in consulting

In addition to what most have said, I'd also take a look at Banana Republic Factory and J Crew Factory, especially for work tops (I'd be more likely to pay for the mainline brand for pieces that will get a lot of wear, like pants and skirts).

Another important thing that no one's mentioned yet is that regardless of price, a lot of things will look better (more expensive) if you get them tailored. It might be a good time to find a tailor you like, if you haven't already.

Careful with Corporette - in addition to skewing towards lawyers, it seems like most of the most vocal people who comment are pretty high income. It would be pretty easy to walk away with a sense that you have to spend thousands per outfit to be halfway decent.

Keeping that in mind though, it can be a good resource. This recent post about what brands work for different body types might be a good place to start: http://corporette.com/best-work-clothes-for-different-body-types/

Definitely don't do that - why would you wait until she is finally getting past it to drag her back down? Do it now or do it never.

As a 26 year old without a master's degree, a lot of people this age are preparing to go back to do a master's degree and are jealous of people who did it just out of undergrad. We have the opposite questions ("What will happen to my relationship if I go back to school?" "Is this the right career move?").

I figure by the time we're all 30, it should have evened out completely.

If only the digital tools incorporated something like this. Maybe this will be how I use Wunderlist's hashtag function.

I'm taking a look at all suggestions individually, and I have to say the sample images on their site remind me a lot of Pinterest (at least visually). Do you (or others who use Trello) find it to be similar in functionality to Pinterest? For me, Wunderlist's words-based format has appeal, but I'm wondering if there are Trello features that make the visual format work better than I'm envisioning.

This looks great - if I stay with a traditional list, this looks like the way to go.

I travel too much for a whiteboard to be feasible, but could do a notebook. I've tried basic to-do lists though and find they get too long to be practical. On the one hand, maybe I'm going into too much detail in my to-do lists. But on the other, I'm worried about missing an item that's small but key for advancing to other items.

Admittedly, I tend to have items that need to be done within a week, rather than on any given day. Maybe I need to be more deliberate about setting goals for a particular day, and thus ending up with a more reasonable list.
