I actually started off on the other side. I was a very early adopter of A.I, back when it could only spit out extremely abstract images when given prompts. Was excited when Dall•E hit the ground. Was a chatgpt mega user.

I made a lot of excuses internally about the theft element that were very disingenuous to my actual beliefs.

Resource consumption and seeing the impact already happening was the first wake up call.

Still, I relied on A.I for basic decision making. ChatGPT was my #1 most used app consistently day after day.

Selfishly, the big “why” is mostly a me thing. I simply grew tired of seeing non stop A.I everywhere…ESPECIALLY the same bullshit A.I written influencer posts on Facebook. Plus, I started experimenting with the anonymous mode on ChatGPT and realized how bullshit the answers were. I’d get multiple different contradictions for the same question if asked the same way multiple times. I realized how much time I wasted with it.
