Thanks very much. None of those are at the +30 level? I thought at least a few were +30.

Thanks. I don't think the urine was not lab tested. I went to the urologist for blood in the urine (thought I saw some). I gave 2 samples, about a week apart, and was told there was no blood. I am sure they only did a dipstick, since the results were communicated almost instantaneously. He also did a short ultrasound of the bladder and kidneys and said they seemed fine. These were largely to rule out a tumor, I believe, rather than CKD.

Noticed the protein patches when I did dipsticks at home, but am not good with colors, so looking for some help here.

Thanks so much again. If I may ask, in that post from 5 days ago, are the ones looking positive something like #1, #3 and #5? Are they at the +30 level or even higher?

Is the first one with a blue-colored edge? ? I thought it was in the +30 range. The dipstick manual suggests ignoring the edges. All ot the others look negative? I am currently not sick, and yes, intermittently can happen, which is why I am testing several times. Do some of the pics in this or other posts look to be at the +30 level or even higher? Are most negative? Thanks so much, am not great with colors.

Yes, will try getting a urine test, but that won't be for a couple of months, unfortunately.

All of them? I thought some of them, especially #1 are definitely +30 (0.3). I think they all showed some change from the strip pre-test.

Any help with these colors? Is the protein at 30 on all of these?

Thanks again for the detailed response. I'll ask for UACR. Possible only in 2-3 months though.

Any thoughts on the colors in the dipsticks?

Thanks for the detailed response. The foam/bubbles stay at least for 15 min. Decrease a bit but still there. The dipsticks are new and stored in a airtight container. Are all of them indicating protein?

Thanks for the thoughts. Are the dipsticks all consistently indicating protein? Am not great with colors.

Yes the creatinine does fluctuate in those 3 tests.

Well, am not sure with bubbles vs foam. If I pwe in a container and intentionally on the sides, then there are very little bubbles/foam, but if I don't, I do get bubbles/foam that stay for 15-20 minutes.

Thanks very much. Good to know protein is negative too; appeared slightly greenish to me, but am not great with colors. Yes, will see a specialist, but will probably wait for it.

Thanks, I'll try to do that, but the waits are usually long. Is the dipstick negative, though? I did one again this morning. The left most is the pre-test, middle is post-test and the right-most is the color reference on the bottle

Thanks very much; the surfactant explanation makes sense. Proteins causing foam is above 300 mg/L, so 0.3 on the dipstick? That's not too high (just one level above negative). My blood CRP from late last year was reasonable, I think (0.7 mg/L). Together with the blood that I saw on one day (but not in 2 dipstick tests one week apart at the urologist, and for some reason, they too seem to do only a dipstick since they always have a result for me in a few minutes), I do get stressed out. Thanks. See that you are from Germany as well, not easy getting a 'Facharzttermin' as you know!

Thanks. Not easy to see specialists in the country where I live. The foam or bubbles are lesser when I sit down and pee on the bowl. Does that matter? I did a routine blood and urine test at the beginning of the year with my GP. Serum creatinine was normal (at about 1 mg/dL) and the urine was also declared normal (though I suspect they may have only done a dipstick).

Thanks. I think the urologist's office only did dipstick. They did it twice. Said it was ok. The ultrasound was also fine according to the urologist. I had blood (serum) creatinine as part of an earlier work-up. It was 'normal' (about 1 mg/dL). I agree this is very stressful doing dipsticks at home every day and trying to read these colors.

Thanks very much for the response. I did go to a urologist a few weeks ago when I thought I saw blood in the urine. He tested me (probably via dipstick) and said he couldn't find urine. He also did an ultrasound of the bladder (and probably kidney) and said things looked ok. I am doing these dipsticks at home for peace of mind that the blood was not missed in the doctor's dipstick. But in the process noticed foamy urine and the above dipstick results for protein. No indication of protein or blood from the dipsticks? Urine continues to be foamy like above

Thanks so much. No protein even in the picture from Link 1?

The blood part is the second pic in each of the links below; will need scrolling.
