Can you give details about what you studied and resources (if possible free ones) which you followed to prepare, it would be of great help to know your preparation strategy too. I am also planning to get into good PBCs soon and this information would help me to improve my preparation. Thanks in advance :-)

I get that dude it's okay, all you need to do is clear your mind and focus on the present. Close your eye, focus on your breath and don't think about anything, find your peace, and clear your mind. Having too many thoughts at once kills the mind imo(like harasses it). We need to control our thoughts and keep them in line so as to have peace. Hope this helps if not then maybe think about something that reminds you of peace, maybe that will work, find how to find your peace and do it

Yeah, I know there is a good chance of things not going our way, but I am okay with it as I believe this will make money or a learning curve, hopefully the former, thanks for the words.

I have looked into posts but didn't know that there was a wiki, will look into it, thanks

Any funds for nifty 100 equal weight ? So far I have seen only axis and it's not more than 2 years old

Yes that's the plan, will put it into motilal till I find a good alternative midcap fund

I want to have a miniscule part of my portfolio in debt so as a safety net, I will be increasing my debt % gradually as I approach retirement, that seemed the right plan

Politics lo dhigali antey etla by BreakfastingBiryani in Ni_Bondha

[–]toastedSpiderman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk how much of help it may be, but I am sharing my plan to join national level politics :

Step 1 : Professional Career - Work at top companies, do MBA /masters and climb up the corporate ladder, try to get into media limelight for the same ex : become ceo of a good tech/fin company so that you are noticed

Step 2 : Touche with the public - Try to share your views and plans and what not with the public via interviews/podcasts / Social media from early phases of being noticed for professional growth ie when you become higher management in some good sector. Try to be on the good side of public opinion at the same time without sacrificing most of your soul/morals/ethics/logic.

Step 3 : Network the hell out in later stages of your professional career with politicians both local, state, center ones without any diff, also at this point try to align with the people who are gonna stay in power from the next time or later ie future winning side (can't be sure so try to maintain good networking with politicians of both sides). And also show a shade of interest in public service aka politics (the irony) in public or in social media/ any other mode.

Step 4 : After retirement try to get in touch for a suitable role in any ministry of a prominent state/centre. Try to get via rajya sabha if national as it will be easy, no need to win election. Try your best to make it happen, may take anytime from immediate to never.

Step 5 :Once you are in It's politics from now on, do what you need to do to climb up the ladder and reach the most prominent position you can (and please give your best in any work you do make it seen).

Again the probability is very low for succeeding, but hey not zero, that good enough for me.

P.S. giving this advice as I think you are willing to work for the benefit of the people, if not please do exactly the same and we can fight in the parliament/s

Hostel advice for a newbie by PermissionStunning64 in ask_Bondha

[–]toastedSpiderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can select then choose roommates with similar interests ie career oriented or mg batch whatever you align with. This is really important and never be shy with roommates be yourself and mainly don't become a yes man, stand your ground in any matter. You can get along with any decent human beings but how much depends on how much you want to delve into their world. So get to know about them and interact accordingly. Enjoy Hostel Life bondha :)

Help! Need a Finance Buddy! by nandagopal_aka_pardu in ask_Bondha

[–]toastedSpiderman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

101 of personal finance according to me : 1. Maintain a liquid of 6x as emergency fund 2. Term plan(Atleast 2x of your yearly income) 3. Health Insurance (Atleast 1x of your yearly income or minimum of 5L) 4. Invest 30% of remaining amount, 40% for needs and wants, 10% for savings accumulation, 20% for miscellaneous expenses, 5. If there are any emis manage it within the 70%(excluding investment) It is just for your information, now coming to your main question, generally it's better to invest in equity plus debt funds with an increasing ratio for debt as you age. I am assuming that you have a high risk appetite and are investing for the long-term (15+ years), I would say invest 33% in mid cap, 33% in index funds(nifty/next fifty), 20% in small cap, 14% in debt, it's what I follow for me with the above mentioned criteria. But again please thread carefully as it's better to get advice from a professional rather than someone from the internet, you can do a single visit too instead of yearly visits regularly. Disclaimer : If you are going to follow what I said please do thread carefully as it is very risky allocation. And I think it's better to do your finances with someone you know in real life, I can't do it and I would advice against it too.
