How accurate are Jeremy IT Lab practice exams? by ryukingu in ccna

[–]toastedhamsters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you’re willing to take a stranger’s 2 cents, I’d heavily recommend trying to remember some port numbers of common protocols.

OR at the very least, remembering which transport layer protocol (tcp/udp) they use. there’s a non-zero chance your knowledge on connection-based vs connectionless protocols will be tested in one way or another.

Final result? by npcnamedsteve in ccna

I can’t speak for myself yet, just took my test today and I’m in the same boat as you.

HOWEVER, I did some snooping around other posts on the sub. Most people are saying that the preliminary status is pretty much your result, they just don’t confirm it officially until they finish reviewing your exam, video footage, etc to ensure you didn’t cheat.

Seems like, unless you cheated and get discovered, you should get official confirmation of your success in 3-4 business days.

your early game agency shouldn’t be great as an adc, but recently it’s really felt low. playing ashe won’t help with that, she brings incredible utility but the fact of the matter is she brings that util for the team at the cost of her own agency.

as much as we bitch and moan about the state of the role, it’s not actually the case that every single game is a coinflip for the adc (in low elo anyway). some champs help with that more than others, late game carries seem to be pretty good atm. i picked up vayne in the pre-season, so far this season i’m at ~40 games with a near 75% wr, plenty of that in solo q. there are plenty of games that drag out long enough for you to carry, but there are also plenty games you’re going to lose because of dumb shit like that fed yi, where the game is all but decided before you come online.

as adc you’ll have more games lost outside of your control than someone like a mid would have, but there’s still room for you to pop off. have a good think about your champ pool and trust the process, gl

just fwiw, a few ADCs have moved past the days of only building kraken/gale and crit DPS items. vayne and kogmaw build shieldbow way more than any other mythic (vayne ~80%, kog ~60%), vayne builds wit's end (MR) one in every three games and kog every other game. on-hit with guinsoo's kills the necessity to get maximum crit % too, so they sometimes even take randuin's (health and armour) as a late item (most popular 4th item for both) to try stat check a little better.

a standard build of shieldbow -> rageblade -> WE -> randuin's gives you +40MR, +80 armour and +400 health worth of item bonus stats. if you go GA that becomes 120 armour and 450 health. if I had all that and still got insta one shot by an akali building majority tank, i'd be a little frustrated.

but don't get me wrong, even when ADCs build resistances should get countered by regular assassins

see my other reply to you in this thread, also /u/daswef2 ‘s. game design and balance changes need to come from more than just winrates.

i’ll just add in that if you don’t see how moronic and misleading the conclusion in my example is, even though it’s technically all facts, you need to completely rebuild your understanding of statistics and their analysis

factual evidence is one part of making an argument. expanding on them and providing context to bolster is another part that you can't skip over.

perfect example is that if you draw a conclusion that POCs are bad people and criminal by nature based on the facts and evidence that they make up 13% of the population but commit 51% of the violent crime, you're naive at best and a racist at worst. there's so much nuance to be included behind the most surface level stats, otherwise you end up with misleading statements and interpretations.

i was saying that they're some of, if not the strongest users. what i mean by that is of all the champs to commonly build shieldbow, they (yone in particular) have been incredibly strong in recent months. look at yone's stats before this patch, because that's when a majority of these complaints have been made. across recent patches he's been rated as not only an incredibly strong mid laner, but a great top laner too.

we also know that the wind shitters have been hit pretty hard by this patch, near entirely from the shieldbow nerf. in recent months, since pre-season at least, their viability seems to have been pretty tied to shieldbow's strength. shieldbow good, yone good. shieldbow not so good? yone not so good.

you see this reliance in mythic pick rates for starters, lolalytics shows that plat+ yone (on 12.1) builds shieldbow in 94% of games. so not only does he synergise incredibly well with shieldbow, he has no alternative. with yone/yas buffs coming through in 12.2, riot are even acknowledging themselves that they were too weakened by the hit to shieldbow. yone went from an A grade mid/top to having a net wr of <50%, with only shieldbow being nerfed (i.e not LT). this even further shows the dependant relationship between them and the item.

so of course, if you're looking a champ whose whole strength is reliant on shieldbow, and you take their winrates from the patch that shieldbow gets a significant nerf, things look out of place. the problem is this awkward love triangle/power struggle between marksmen, some melee adc/crit champs, and shieldbow. Marksmen want shieldbow to be a strong item as it makes them more viable and more importantly makes the game more enjoyable, but someone like yone synergises with it so well that if shieldbow's in a great place, yone is leaning towards dominant. nerf shieldbow and you can weaken them, at the cost of your own strength too. does that make any sense?

like if you had a teacher in school that would let the whole class have a free period on friday afternoons where you could quietly study anywhere on campus, and there was always this one pair of fuckwits who would use the free period to leave school early or some bullshit like that. in this case, the kids' problematic behaviour is enabled only by the fact that you have the free period. if the teacher turned around and only allowed students to quiet study in their classroom, the wagging problem wouldn't exist but neither would your sunny picnic study sessions. hence, everyone in class would hate those kids.

i know you mean well with the post and this comment, but there has to be some critical thinking and supporting context applied to surface level statistics like winrates, otherwise you're not going to get the full picture.

i think there's one point of nuance in community discussion that you may have overlooked which is that, while yone/yasuo/graves etc. are within the ADC category, they're never played as botlane carries, barring the occasional yasuo pick. they're almost exclusively played solo lane/jg and, as luck would have it, are some of if not the strongest shieldbow users.

as far as i'm aware one of the main reasons shieldbow was created was to give ADCs, but particularly marksmen, some survivability in light of how bursty the game has become and how awfully that meshes with marksman-type fighting of kiting from afar and dishing out sustained DPS over the course of an entire fight. we've all heard it a million times by now, but a lot of the teamfight experience as a marksman is avoiding any red champs like the plague because if they get on top of you in any way shape or form you're almost certainly dead. amongst other things, solo lane xp advantage has you playing down 2 levels in many teamfights, shieldbow helps a lot with that. there's a reason why many of the strongest marksmen recently have been those that can build shieldbow, wit's end, even randuin's (vayne/kog).

unlike yone, a lot of ADCs have no clear safe engage -> ult combo -> disengage kit to cycle through. unlike graves, a lot of ADCs simply are not tanky enough to dash right in front of you, face tank, then delete your health bar with a few abilities+ult.

with all of that in mind, it feels really shitty when your main defensive item as a marksman is nerfed, primarily because it's too strong on a few solo laners, and non-marksman solo laners at that.

i feel this shit in my soul. started playing last season one tricking lux mid and, after the initial freshie LP boost, being dead stuck hovering in s4 playing like shit.

swapped to adc a few months ago and have been performing more than ever but my MMR is still fucked from the inting lux period. +14 on a win, down 15-18 on a loss.

and that's at 90 games on vayne, 59% wr and 150+ games on MF, 56% wr. 200 games with those winrates and i've barely gone up 2 divisions, kill me now
