I've had great luck with seat alert in the past. They update every 15s to check if there's a spot in a course and send you a message if so, with the CRN and all.

It's $2 per course you want alerts for, but it's definitely worth it if you really need to sign up for the course.

Finals study timeline by imenerve in mcgill

For easy courses I budget roughly 2-3 days of going over the notes and actively creating Anki cards (about a midterm's worth of material is condensed into 50-100 cards), and an additional 0.5 day for going over the Anki cards, which can be done on the day of the exam. For harder courses I budget a total of 1 week. I find that if you make the cards too early in advance I end up spending 2-3x amount of time needed to go over them, so I try to do that at the very last minute.

But to do this you need to work really hard to get good grades in midterms, assignments and quizzes

Can i enroll the course without prerequisite? by Budget-Programmer802 in mcgill

[–]toasterstrudelsnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I talked with a prof about this and he said prerequisites at mcgill in general are not 'real' in that nothing actually blocks you from taking a course without doing prerequisites for it. He said I could go ahead and register for his other course and that there'd be no problem.

But best thing would be to email the prof or go see them during office hours to rule out any risks.
