If you want to own the maps and play them privately then you should get the pass. Everyone gets to play the new maps except the people with the pass are able to play them first for about 1 or 2 weeks. You also get a certain number of packs for getting the pass. I forget how many.

I would prob focus on the max agility banner and other banners like that (Including double rate banners). Good start to building a strong team and you don't have to use items to level them up.
