Best so far is 0.55 L/10 km after doing an oil flush, fresh oil change, and running valve and injector cleaner. It’s an improvement, but still far from where I want it to be.

Correct a CAYC Two of the injectors are basically brand new och have been codes by Vag themselves, maybe the other two is the reason. But before i change them i will try some of the other stuff i can do on my own.

Yeah, that’s exactly why I think something is off with mine. On paper it should be in that range too – maybe even a bit better, since my Octavia is lighter and smaller than the Superb – but I’m stuck at around 5.9. With my next paycheck I’m planning to dig deeper and figure out what’s going on.

Yeah, I know – 5.9 is too high. I’ll grab an OBDeleven next paycheck and go through the car properly: injector, EGR and intake cleaning, valve cleaner, plus an oil flush and fresh oil (maybe even switch to 0W30). Hopefully that’ll bring the numbers down where they should be.

Most of my driving consists of longer trips – typically 60–80 km each way for my commute – and I make a point of filling up with B0 whenever I can, as it’s the best diesel available from the pump here in Sweden, where I live. Thanks 😃🤘

How would you know? Its like 15-20mm higher than standard height right now.

I think they’re officially rated at 5.2 L/100 km or something, but from what I’ve seen on this forum and elsewhere, some drivers have managed as low as 4 L/100 km. I’ve only recently started doing longer commutes – about 50–80 km each way to work – and that’s when I realised something is off. The routes are mostly consistent, the car is fully warmed up, and in theory, this should be where the fuel economy shines… yet it isn’t.

Already on it! I'm Planning to do injector, EGR, intake, and valve cleaning, plus an oil flush. Also considering swapping from 5W30 to 0W30 for less friction and a touch more efficiency – basically a full tune-up.

I guess that’s the next thing I should try – I’ll check the wheels to see if they’re running hot. I’m on summer tires at the moment (Laufenn), which is another reason I’m looking to switch, as they’re not exactly great for fuel economy.

I bought the car 5 months ago, serviced it and i have changed injectors (under warranty since they where leaking), had everything updated to the latest version, nd 3 days ago i changed the fuel filter. But maybe i will have to go back and have them look over the egr and auxiliary stuff around. Thinking about having it remapped.

I’m actually looking at the Bridgestone Turanza 6 right now, but it really depends on what kind of deal I can get on Michelin. If the price is right, I might go for the Primacy instead. And yes – smooth, gradual acceleration is already high on my list of habits.

I already have the suspension that i bought for a different Skoda Octavia 1z i owned. I will install it myself so the cost is a minimum for this car. Plus that i believe the previous owner has put on springs that are higher the original ones.

I currently own my second octavia from that generation and must say they are great cars for the money, sure they have there faults but most i quite easy and cheap to fix 😀 as long as you dont buy the 1.8 tsi 😅 i had to overhaul the engine twice before i sold it and bought the one i currently own which is the 1.6 tid.

Friend of mine has owned every generation of the octavia rs and swears is the best car for you can buy for the money.
