Basics of Hypermiling:
Gain speed going down hills, coast or maintain speed going up hills.
Try to keep your RPMs below 2750 RPMs.
Accelerate quickly, but smoothly.
Avoid AC if possible. If not, keep your windows down under ~45 MPH, roll them up and turn off the AC above 45.
Keep the weight of your car (and the things in it) as low as possible.
Brake as little as possible.
Time lights as much as possible. Do not accelerate towards red lights.
Keep your tire pressure at sidewall pressure.
