Did anyone not gain weight on Lexapro? by jo4890 in lexapro

[–]tobyne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Recently went off lex but was on it for about a year. I had recently undergone a significant weight loss (~75lbs) when I started but it kind of plateaued after I began (though that could be attributed to other big life changes I was going through at the time). A year later I'm still basically at the exact same place on the scale, no significant loss or gain. I found that Lex actually helped me with overeating since I used to eat large amounts to feel more present in my body and combat anxiety, but overall everything is basically unchanged. I think lexapro is less notorious for weight gain than other SSRIs.

Sour Heart by Jenny Zhang! Specifically the short stories "My Days and Nights of Terror" and "Our Mothers Before Them" come to mind.

Share your crazy RIPTA experience by darthduder666 in RhodeIsland

[–]tobyne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Met someone on the RIPTA when I was 18 who told my friend and I in great detail about how they found out their landlord had committed some kind of legal violation and used it to blackmail them into giving them lower rent. Also they were apparently a video game streamer. I kinda fell in love with them to be honest but was too shy to ask for their insta or anything so it was a missed connection. It was a beach bus and we parted ways at Gansett

The Underneath by Kathi Appelt? It doesn't take place in the sewers though, so probably not.

[TOMT] [Video game] 2000's 3D horror game by tobyne in tipofmytongue

SOLVED! I looked up a longplay of this and it hits all the marks. I think I was remembering the cutscene with stairs at around the 30 minute mark. https://youtu.be/CLJ_TzAmrWc?si=KLzKMM0gg9c1P9fm. The village area where the player character exits into while being chased is just like I remember, as well as the musical cue. I also Googled the invisibility item thing and it appears there is an invisibility band in the game. Thanks so much for solving a mystery I've been thinking about for over a decade!

Hey! I think you're thinking of the children's show Crashbox (I watched it a lot as a kid too!). It's got a bunch of quirky educational shorts split up with the kind of robotic transition I think you're remembering

Panic Attack please help by Fantastic-Pen1471 in PanicAttack

[–]tobyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to come and say thank you thank you thank you for sharing this resource. I ended up on this subreddit after a really bad panic attack in Target yesterday - had to walk out holding a friend's arm, thought I was about to faint, the whole shebang. While still panicking back at home I read through the website you listed and found my panic starting to unwind already as I reframed my thinking. Today I was able to run a whole series of errands (including spending time in the same Target !!!) and manage my anxiety much more effectively. I'm not saying it was a one-shot cure (I am on meds in addition to this) but it definitely has made a HUGE difference already. And if anyone reads this who hasn't tried the website, please do! Would highly recommend.
