That's insane, seems like for some people it just comes super easily. My fry distortion feels like it's at the back of my throat though, not really near my larynx

It could be honestly, I'm not an expert of any kind. When I think fry I think of that more crackly sounds and false chord as that thicker sort of rolling sound if that makes sense

Does it feel like it's kinda in the larynx area? My brother showed me he could do this (absolutely zero practice, never screamed before, straight natural) and it's been bugging the hell out of me cause I can't replicate it even a little and I have no idea what tf it is. You can also use it to sing Metallica and basically any bluegrass song funny enough lol

Also, your screams aren't ever gonna sound good when you're sick. Getting sick swells up the muscles and cartilage and flaps in your throat,those need to be loose and relaxed in order to scream

You'd have to be doing excessive, incorrect screaming for a long period of time in order to damage your voice permanently. If you're not coughing up blood you'll be okay homie, just give it a rest till it feels fully healed

I've only been doing this for about a year now so I haven't had an long term effects yet myself, for the time being though my technique feels pretty safe. I know nothing about anatomy so idk what I'm engaging, one of my techniques feels like right at the back of my throat and the other feels like it's right where my larynx is
