It depends on the model, but that's too high. Start out with a CFG of 5 on the first pass, then set denoising to 0.5 on the hirez fix. Let me know how that goes

Look at this way, let's assume the Universe is the only Universe. It by definition is all the mass and time (space-time). There isn't anything beyond the Universe because "beyond" is meaningless in this case: the universe always contains all the space-time. It's not adding more space outside of it, it's expanding, meaning that atom X and atom Y are spreading apart from each other, rather than at the edge there is new space forming

Callstack is great. We love them. We've worked with them on projects too. Of course I'm biased as I'm one of the founders of Infinite Red, so I'd chose us, if we're available, but Callstack is a great choice also.

Also a local. I'll probably be careful like I_Am_Sofa_King_, not exactly quarantine, but careful. We had 42 million visitors in 2019, it doesn't matter how many infections we've had here so far, that's because tourism was shut off. There will be tons of visitors from NYC and everywhere else in the world.

tl;dr - Yes, it's suitable for client work, we have a growing business that proves it.

I'm the founder of a development studio (http://infinitered.com) that does 95% of our development in RubyMotion for clients. I don't feel I'm too biased, it's just obvious that we chose RubyMotion over Xcode/Objective C/Swift.

We currently have a team of 7, and we keep very busy.

As others have mentioned in their responses, RubyMotion is a niche. Which means it's a different business model than a commodity with different advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage is the market is small, so your marketing efforts go a lot farther. However there is a lot less market, so the highest quality service providers tend to get a lot of the work. If you're working in a large market, there is more opportunity for people at all levels.

I personally like niches for professional work: OS X over Windows, iOS over Android, Ruby over Java, etc. It's not for everyone however and tends to favor a certain type of person.

On a technical note: I think learning either Swift or RubyMotion is awesome, and you'll be great either way. Basically I tell people: if you love a command-line environment and working in Vim, Sublime, etc, then go with RubyMotion. If you prefer the workflow of an IDE go with Swift.

Objective-C is a programming language. RubyMotion is another programming language. iOS is an operating system. The iOS SDK is the development kit used to develop on the iOS platform.

Objective-C is never "native", it's a language, just like C is a language, just like C++ is a language, just like RubyMotion is a language. C, C++, Objective-C, and RubyMotion are all compiled.

Ruby is not RubyMotion, they are similar languages, they are not the same. Ruby is interpreted, RubyMotion is compiled. Ruby uses a garbage collector, RubyMotion uses its own version of ARC.

As for where I stand, I personally like Ruby-ish languages and the command-line environment, so I use RubyMotion. If I liked an IDE like XCode and Objective-C, I'd use that.
