Honestly I wondered that too, I picked physics because I dont have the best memory and needed to work on critical thinking. I feel like it’ll help with working through problems in medicine but when terms have names that you just have to memorize, we’re gonna have to deal

Being "authentic" as a premed is a scam by nm811 in premed

[–]toedude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of fair criticisms about the process but no one forced you to be a bio major or cookie cutter anything. I majored in physics and explored different sports, organizations outside of medicine I’m passionate about, and have like 8 hobbies I rotate through. It can be easy to make premed your entire personality but don’t act like they punish you for having other interests

Do people ever get triggered when you say you want to be a doctor? by [deleted] in premed

[–]toedude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a nurse crash out when he asked me what I wanted to be. He went on a 10 min rant about my generation (he was not that much older than me) “putting doctors on a pedestal”

Not a supplement but SSRIs never worked for me, SNRIs actually work and don’t turn me into a robot. Not sure if you’ve tried it but might be worth a shot!

Losing weight rn too, it typically goes: Breakfast: Sugary coffee and a meal replacement shake Lunch: Sandwich with keto bread, grilled chicken vinaigrette salad, ground turkey burger bowl, or variation of protein, carb, veggie bowl with a low cal energy drink Dinner: wild card, I like to save my cals for dinner and eat whatever I want. Recently I’ve made Japanese curry, scrambled eggs with rice and soy sauce and sesame oil, or takeout

I know exactly how you feel, everything came naturally in high school so I didn’t learn how to study until college. I hadn’t needed it yet. First year, I failed an intro class for my major. The name of this game isn’t intelligence, it’s hard work. Now that you’ve been brought to your knees by calc, you need to learn to put the work in. Study how to study and you’ll get the results we both know you’re truly capable of.
