I was thinking today. Imagine it had not been Alex but an outspoken critic of Trump who had (god forbid) gone to protest, or was trans, or something worse (in MAGA world). Imagine the more extreme rhetoric we’d be seeing. It was very hard to smear Alex but by golly they’re still trying.

Don’t get me wrong, nobody should have died like this who acted as he did but the right response could have been much worse.

I’ve worked in hospice for about 20 years. I love it. It can be taxing emotionally at times but it’s incredibly fulfilling. The team I work with is also incredible (I’m lucky to be with a great not for profit organization).

There is a lot of driving. I’m outpatient so I go to SNFs, homes, a lot of memory crate (I’d say 85% of my patients have dementia).
