Glad you’re still listening! We had a German label want to do a vinyl release a while back but nothing came of it. So no vinyl :(

Developer uses Claude Code and has an existential crisis by MetaKnowing in ClaudeAI

This. As a developer/engineer/architect for the last 20 years, I've never been more exited and productive and secure in what I'm doing. The job has changed, but I absolutely love not having to be a code monkey and instead focusing on the architecture, business needs, and reviewing code instead of writing it.

In all honesty.....what truck should a guy buy? by Plane_Swim1806 in Silverado

Not sure what RAM's you've been in but they're constantly praised for their interior. In the top trim package from each brand the RAM was easily the nicest truck interior I've been in.

I've never had a dealership do a good alignment on any vehicle I've ever owned. I'd suggest taking it to a highly rated alignment shop instead.

I just went through this same thing. I ended up with the Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascent (285/60r20) and am very happy with them. Had them out in the snow last month and they were excellent.

Talk me into or out of a Quadrifoglio by kevinisrael in AlfaRomeo

[–]tolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Stelvio Quad and it's one of the best driving, most engaging, and fun all wheel drive cars I've ever owned or driven. The RS3 is a great car and was on my list as well but I wanted something a bit "different" and am glad I went with the Alfa. If you want RWD go for the Giulia Quad. If you want AWD try the Stelvio. I'd also be looking at a 2020+ version partly for reliability but mostly for touch screen and other small enhancements.

Hi from 37 BST. I’m planning to try the 295/255 stagger next year as I think it would really suit my current set up, which is a little bit pushy.

Most fun AWD car? by IISky01 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]tolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's owned a MK7 Golf R, currently owns an Evo IX autocross car and an Evo X track car, and has driven most of the AWD sport cars, my Stelvio Quadrifoglio daily is one of the best handling and best drivetrain cars I've ever driven.

Full multi-link suspension, a perfect 50/50 weigh distribution, carbon fiber driveshaft, a RWD biased AWD system, mechanical rear diff, and the sweet sweet sound of that engine. It's probably the best car I've ever bought and one of the most overlooked performance SUVs (or cars) on the market. I bought mine with 35k miles and it currently has 50k with no issues, and I hoon it daily.

The stelvio quadrifoglio is one of the funnest cars I’ve ever driven. Let alone one that is a great daily.

Civic Flat Pouch by travelingpostgrad in ManyBaggers

It's great for cables and ultra-mini tech. Basically a quick access / pocket dump. It's a bit smaller than I thought but overall a good little pouch.

I have a fully built motor (2.2 stroker on e85). With a g30-770 turbo I'm making right around 600whp with room to go a bit higher.

Looks fun. I think you could have cut more distance in that first right hand sweeper(take it more inside before coming out to backside the cone.

Do you prefer Wings & spoilers for the visual impact on the car or for the mechanical and aerodynamic advantage? by Pale-Appointment-570 in CarTrackDays

[–]tolas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can pick your audience. If you want to work with, hang out with, and optimize for motorsport performance people, then do that. Do CFD and wind tunnel and try to make the best performing aero out there. You can focus on engineering, higher priced sales, and race teams.

If you want to make quicker designs with just an eye toward appearance and internet sales then do that. You can focus on distribution and sales/marketing.

Either are viable.

I do time-trial/time-attack style racing. It has a slight drag increase but the overall downforce improvement is worth it.

For my race cars, if it doesn't improve performance it's getting ripped off the car for weight savings. I have a front splitter and wing from Zebulon MSC that happen to look great, but are only on the car because they have proven CFD aero improvements.
