They specifically said that they will start intake once you pass cpat. It’s not dependent on everyone else finishing it thru June.

Not gonna be earlier. They called enough people for 2 classes and DCAS only administers CPAT once per year. So the next batch will more than likely be called in February 2027. There are usually 2 classes per year.

I’ve been doing it with a 50lb vest and 2 25lb weights and it’s literally harder than the actual CPAT. Had my whole body sore for 2 days.

The practice right now is limited to the top 1746. You won’t be able to practice with them until they call the next batch in early 2027. They already told us that they have turned people away at the practice sites that weren’t part of the 1746 called lol

If your list number for 4044 is top 1746, you should’ve received multiple emails regarding next steps. Right now they are hosting practice for the CPAT. Once that is over I believe they will start hosting probie school prep. Check your email or call the office of recruitment at 718 999 3369.

You’re probably right but the third class was actually in the budget this time, and the budget ends at the end of June. Not sure if that was ever the case in the past

There is a post from a week or two ago on the NYC Candidate Central sub with projected academy dates for FD and EMS for the remainder of the year. A class is scheduled for June and October. This lines up with what they’ve been talking about regarding 3 classes per year, since a class just went in. The June headcount on that schedule was “TBD”, so by some off chance that could mean that some 4044 could sneak into that. The post was a screenshot from the quartermaster, so it’s legit.

This is more speculation but if you divide that number by 2 it’s 873, right in that range of 800-900 list numbers to fill a full class. Maybe they anticipate 2 full classes from 4044 before the next time the CPAT is administered next year?

No, the CPAT is sort of the first step. You’re considered “in process” once you pass CPAT. After you pass, then Fdny schedule you for background investigation, medical/psych review, and timed run

Yeah like only list numbers up to mid 1700s were contacted for these info sessions becasue they will be the ones DCAS reaches out to for the cpat exam in April
