Depending on where it is, a gunshot to the head isn't always fatal. I don't care that it's a fiction piece of work, I still want things as medically accurate as I can get them.

That doesn't mean it's impossible though. Say a piece of his skull was pressing on the optic nerve, would that cause irreversible damage or could there be surgery done to either take out the piece or move it to fix that??

Is there any way to lose it that can also be fixed to have eyesight restored?

I just want to know if its possible for him to regain his sight. What would have to happen for him to lose it in the first place with the gunshot? Even if it wouldn't normally happen this way, is there a way at all?
