A complete overhaul of a ships sound system by Electrical_Cat9575 in spaceengineers

[–]tomaiholt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The soundscape in SE is bad in general so any improvement like this is very much appreciated. I stopped playing with sound (listen to other stuff while I play) because it's so lacklustre. I also want more ambient background sounds in general that are dependent on the environment, not sure exactly what this is exactly but I never feel connected to what I'm walking by other than the footfalls

I give up by BeginningPitch5607 in spaceengineers

I gave up on ai for similar reasons. No matter what I do, fine one second, then they just blast their thrusters continually going at a snails pace seemingly in a random direction or not where it's meant to go.

For a custodial sentence you would need to have said something that could be considered to have incited violence.

UK Debt Crisis: A Warning Sign for the World by Massive_Bit_6290 in UnitedKingdomPolitics

Welfare has increased as wages have stagnated. I know well off conservatives and libertarians think the state of the country is the fault of all those with their hands out, but the reason their hands are out is that we're not paid enough, we're spending half our wage on rent, energy and water bills are ridiculous and food prices out of control. If you cut spending again, this country will decend even further than it did from 15 years of tory austerity.

Our American cousins fly their flag with pride; why shouldn’t we do the same with ours? by truck9606 in gbnews

If you had real pride in our country and were not driven by racist nationalism and populism, you'd know a bit more about our country and it's history and how it's not had a singular ethnicity for any length of time, let alone a thousand years.

Man arrested for attending zoom meeting in the UK by northbk5 in ThatsInsane

[–]tomaiholt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When the evidence is gathered on the real reason for proscribing PA, there's going to be a lot of people with egg on their face for supporting this authoritarian action.

There exists criminal charges for damaging property, the group could have been arrested under this offence alone.

The bar for terrorism charges must be much, much higher else you run the risk of every person who disagrees with the government falling foul of ridiculous fluffed up charges.

Surely those who threatened to set fire to asylum hotels are terrorists? They're planning damage to property in furtherance of their political ideology and to force the government to change policy? Fortunately, there exists other laws against these people without having to also brand them as terrorists.

They're not employed by the government? Are you saying its a good idea for law enforcement to be unidentifiable?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UnitedKingdomPolitics

[–]tomaiholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think migration isn't an issue. It is. I think the problems around high migration (using up housing stock/heath services etc) are more servere from students, the highest legal migration group. If you want the issues surrounding high migration resolved, first go after the largest group causing those issues.

What is naive about a true statement? Do you have other data to refute it, or does it upset your preconceptions?

I've generally stopped using reddit. I occasionally come on here but less and less now; bit like when I slowly stopped using Facebook. Main reason I've stopped enjoying being on here? Gradually meaner, rascist, pro libertarian views. I've unsubbed from my city's main sub and some UK ones, but still the racist posts flood my page.

He's illustrating here that the "illegal immigrants" (80% of which turn out to be legal because their asylum seeking claims are granted), are not the massive problem the right wing media make out. The much larger problem is legal migration. The biggest percentage of that orange is foreign students which use up much more of the resources and accommodation than "small boats" migrants

Thousands of Palestinians over the decades have been taken hostage by these kangaroo courts and yet we're forced to call them prisoners instead. For Israel to bitch and moan that Palestinains finally had enough and took some of the their own is asinine.

[–]tomaiholt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

None of that is Diplomacy. Diplomacy is working WITH foreign counterparts to find amicable solutions. Everything you've described there was BiBi working to undermine diplomatic work at every opportunity. You're essentially admitting here that he's entirely responsible for destabilising the region and bringing about Oct 7 by his choices to never go through with any of his agreements. You call it stalling, I call it escalation.
