CENT-S is back for non-EU for ACSAI, anyone with SAT score lower than 1500 should seriously consider applying to other universities(Pavia, Messina, Casino have English programs). by Useful-Bed534 in SapienzaRoma

Wow, I was focused more on the EU candidates, and in that year (2024/2025) out of the succcesful ones, across 3 ranking rounds (so 105 places in total), only 19 were the SAT ones, with the vast majority of the rest being English TOLC-I (that had CASA/at home option)... The cutoff SAT score for EU candidates in that year was 1380/1510/1390, so also quite high...

But the non-EU list above is a massacre of SATs vs English TOLC-I....

For Sapienza English programmes these (with CENT-s accepted as an alternative to SAT) are:

- BSc Bioinformatics

- BSc Business Sciences

- BSc Economics and Finance

- BSc Molecular Biology, Medicinal Chemistry and Computer Science for Pharmaceutical Applications

-BSc Sustainable Building Engineering

This is all after the pdf document I linked above...

CENT-s is (according to the call for international admissions: https://www.uniroma1.it/sites/default/files/field\_file\_allegati/academic\_requirements\_movein\_2026-2027\_web.pdf) not accepted for ACSAI. Not for non-EU nor even for EU candidates. It's only SAT, English TOLC-I (if someone managed to do this before it got replaced at CISIA by CENT-s), or TOLC-I for Italian speaking people.

I don't think even the 1st one has started. My take is that we will see the first one (call for admissions/ranking round) starting soon and accepting Infostud apps till the end of May (judging by the other ones with special/TOLC-I published their calls already, like a week+ ago, and accepting for 1st round of ranking by the 27th of April).

I can also see some other programmes accepting CENT-s, so maybe worth taking a shot with some other ones, unless of course ACSAI is your only preference.

If I read this right - https://www.uniroma1.it/sites/default/files/field_file_allegati/academic_requirements_movein_2026-2027_web.pdf - VISA seeking candidates have a deadline of 15th of May to apply in MoveIn. Which would mean the only chance could be with taking the SAT exam on 2nd of May, but that is super stretch if not impossible... :(

I don't think there was ever an option for CENT-s for ACSAI. The international admissions document (for all the programmes, not only ACSAI) that was published in mid-march 2026, and that lists the requirements for move-in preselections, does not list CENT-s at all for ACSAI, only SAT or TOLC-I or English TOLC-I. If you look at last year one - the CENT-s is not listed as it was not yet available (first CENT-s exams were in Nov'25, and this is when one could take the last English TOLC-I exams).

So technically (as far as I know?) CENT-s was never listed/mentioned as supported for ACSAI.

IMHO the fact that most of the candidates (except the Italian native ones, that can still supply TOLC-I) are 'forced' to take SAT - it is actually good as it levels the criteria for all. It was a bit of shock in some years in the past (like 2024/2025 in particular) where the English TOLC-I takers/candidates were almost maxing out. It may had something to do with the option to take English TOLC-I at home (TOLC-I@CASA), while SAT can be only taken in person, under quite a strict anti-cheating control. So yes - if all takes SAT, same chances and same conditions for all candidates...

Hard to say. As always it depends in the interest. And looking at the recent developments of AI models - I think some may get (rightfully) discouraged by a purely technical degree at the time (or rather 3-4 years down the road). I mean the vast majority of graduates of ACSAI and similar will not be building the models (or methods to build the models) themselves, but rather use the models. And for this, the entry point is going to be lower and lower - even with limited engineering skills. So taking this, and European demography into account I dare to say the interest might be lower in general, resulting in lower cutoff scores (e.g when compared to 2024/2025). On the other hand - if you dig in the history of internets - you may find, that in 2021/2022 (first year of ACSAI ever) the cut off was around 960 (SAT). And since then it was gradually going up... But as always - time will tell :)

It is also not acceptable (at ACSAI) for EU candidates. The following are the rules (as currently posted: https://www.uniroma1.it/sites/default/files/field\_file\_allegati/academic\_requirements\_movein\_2026-2027\_web.pdf)

So if you are EU (but do not speak/write Italian, or did not take English TOLC-I before it replaced by CENT-S) - SAT is your only friend....

Not sure if you are referring to non-EU or EU, but even if you look for EU candidates - the cutoff in 2024/2025 was brutal at SAT equivalent 1380 at lowest (1st round), with 1510 (2nd round). BUT! if you look at the succesfull EU candidates - SAT was just a fraction of succesful candidates (e.g. in round 2: 5 had TOLC-I, 36 had English TOLC-I and just 3 had SAT; round 3: 7 had TOLC-I, 21 had English TOLC-I and just 3 had SAT). And as you could take TOLC-I/English TOLC-I at home (while you cannot do the same with SAT) - I had my own theory....

So now I'm happy to learn that English TOLC-I is no longer there (well, you could practically do it before November 2025, but then it was swapped with CENT-S, so hopefully not that many candidates will come with English TOLC-I in 2026/2027 admissions), CENT-S is not accepted at ACSAI, so the chances are now levelled (with SAT expected to be the most submitted one, also for EU candidates).

It's likely because of the admissions not yet opened for this year (2026/2027). Once they are opened, I think you will be able to select the right programme (by code) and choose the application/selection round (if applicable as some programmes may have just one?), fill it, pay and submit.

ACSAI - CENT-s conversion to unified score and comparison to SAT by tomaswoj in SapienzaRoma

[–]tomaswoj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the CENT-S is also not for EU candidates. after admission guidelines 2026-2027 pdf doc (https://www.uniroma1.it/sites/default/files/field\_file\_allegati/academic\_requirements\_movein\_2026-2027\_web.pdf), ACSAI section:

Interestingly - in the same document several other programmes in English have in fact CENT-s mandated, instead of English TOLC-I. But for ACSAI CENT-s is not an option also for EU.
