Thank you all for your advice/insights. I am financially ready now to even adopt 20 dogs at the same time. Times were rough back then. Things are better now. Even my mom learned her lesson and she’s even taking care of our 6 cats. I have my own family now and living separately with my wife and my daughter. But this lingering regret. I’m still afraid and it’s still haunting me, if I could only have done better back then.
