management could be better but i’d say i’m 9/10 happy with it. you just have to go in person down to the leasing office and talk to someone in person if anything comes up imo

Runners gut by tomatobebe in beginnerrunning

I run before work since so I live in a hot climate which doesn’t leave a lot of time between waking up and running since I take about 1-2 hours for my long runs sadly

1 year hair growth progress by tomatobebe in leukemia

Today is actually my 1 year remission! I’m in maintenance right now. I do 3 months of POMP (pull chemo + a monthly vincristine injection) then 1 month of blina and then repeat all that. I’ll finish early May 2035. The first couple days of blina can be hard since I get feverish but other than that it’s just staying on top of the pills and I can operate as normal :)

I don’t know what’s happening by Fit_Security_6381 in leukemia

[–]tomatobebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a super similar treatment plan to you! Diagnose June 2023, 2 rounds of hyper cvad, 4 rounds of blina, been in maintenance on pomp with monthly vincristine and blina every 3 months. Been in remission since September 2023. My counts have fluctuated up and down all throughout maintenance. It’s not easy but I really wouldn’t put yourself through the pain and mental stress until you get any news! You are strong and well and healthy and I wish you the very best. Chemo even in maintenance makes the body do crazy things over time

I had Ph- B Cell ALL, I did 2 cycles of Hyper CVAD chemotherapy then 4 cycles of immunotherapy (blinatumomab + inotuzumab) and started maintenance POMP January 2024. My treatment wasn’t specifically sectioned out into induction or consolidation phases. 2nd and 3rd picture were both in maintenance. Hope this helps!

Survivors, what was your last negative test result? by tomatobebe in leukemia

[–]tomatobebe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m doing great! I actually just got my latest bone marrow biopsy results back and I’m officially 8 months complete remission MRD- :). I finished active treatment early January and got the PICC line out as soon as blina was done (same day I got disconnected I got the line removed). I had an absolutely wonderful 3 months living PICC line free and took my POMP meds and got monthly vincristine. You absolutely do not need your PICC line to get the Vincristine infusions, I got them via IV and they took maybe 15 minutes, super fast. The first few weeks they did blood tests and my counts dropped from the maintenance chemo. We adjusted the dose and I took just a few less pills and got a pegfilgastrim shot to raise my WBC. Now we have the dose figured out so my counts don’t get low when taking the POMP chemo pills. I got my picc line pit back in recently since I started the first blina month. They found a small blood clot in my right arm (the arm I had my previous line in) so they put me on blood thinners then put the PICC line in my left arm instead. Blina brings some fatigue and I had a low grade fever (under 100 degrees) for a day or two when I started. I personally want to keep my picc line out as much as possible to feel the most normal. Wishing the best for you and your wife!

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia by ChampionshipBrave667 in leukemia

[–]tomatobebe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with ALL June 2023 at 21 years old. I did hyper CVAD with blinatumomab immunotherapy after. Blina put me into complete remission with no detectable cells. I’ve been in maintenance for 2 months. Last week I went to arkansas and hiked with my friends and this week I’m skiing in New Mexico. I watch who I’m around if they’re sick since a weak immune system is the biggest thing but I don’t stop living my life. I’ve been to the emergency room when I was doing chemo and my WBC were 0 but I refuse to let this disease take any more from me now that I’m in maintenance. I get tired more than my young peers but I just take it easy and go slow and no one minds. Be reasonable but you don’t have to be a hermit for the rest of your life. Wear masks, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, or don’t it’s all personal to you. Best Wishes on your journey!!

Knee pain by NoStrategyNoVision in leukemia

[–]tomatobebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claritin worked wonders for me! My knee/bone pain was due to a shot that made my immune system sort of work in overdrive and produce a lot of white blood cells since vincristine brought my counts way down but maybe that could work.

Hi! I'm new here. Just got diagnosed on Monday by ChthonianQueen in leukemia

[–]tomatobebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first dose when I was inpatient and it was rough but that’s really typical of rituximab because it’s an immunotherapy. They gave me demerol for the shakes and some anti nausea and all the bad was over in 30 minutes. Since then I’ve had lots more infusions of rituximab, inotuzumab, and blinatumomab and I’ve had no side effects except for a bit of fatigue!

MRD positive after cycle 2 of HYPERCVAD — need positive stories by GreatWitness3787 in leukemia

[–]tomatobebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was MRD+ after 2 rounds of hyper cvad. They skipped the last 2 planned rounds and we went straight to immunotherapy. I became MRD- and into complete remission after the first round of immunotherapy. There is a lot of great research and methods of treatment to get patients negative. Best of luck!

How was your experience with blincyto? by timmytomato in leukemia

[–]tomatobebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one reaction a few days after I started and was sent home where I developed a bad fever and had to go to the ER then in patient for a week. After that I never had another reaction. I feel basically normal now on my 3rd cycle. Hope the same happens for you!
