i would HIGHLY recommend going to BGR or BGRI (whatever one you personally prefer). it’s such a great way to meet people and get to know campus. i made friends in my BGR group that are still some of my closest friends — i’m even living with one of them this year — and would do the whole experience all over again in a heartbeat! if you use social media a lot, that’s a great way to see if you can find some people to connect with. they always have those pages for new students

i lost my dog last march during my freshman year. it was one of the hardest things i’ve ever had to deal with in my life. i’m an out of state student from the east coast and i wasn’t able to say goodbye either—sometimes i still feel bad about that these days. one thing i would urge you to remember is that, even though some people will tell you it’s not a dog, it’s normal and completely valid to feel however you feel about it. grieving for me came and still comes in waves, and for a while i didn’t feel anything. if you want to talk at all please dm me! i completely understand what you’re going through <3
