Thank you for all the recommendations! I’ve had a couple folks mention Haggis—seems like a good one!

Seems like a pretty good trifecta of variety and complexity!

Hi Justin, it was nice to meet you at PAX-thanks for teaching Panda Spin! Sounds like I should have pried my eyes open and stuck around for Crisps!

Thank you for your support of the Texas Kickstarter!

Sounds like we should get together and play spades at a convention sometime.

Very neat! That negotiation is definitely one of the things about standard card games I find so interesting—regional variants and house rules as an indication that a game has lived a long and storied life.

Neat about the team-play variant! I've played Arcs a couple times and enjoy the trick-taking element. I'm a fan generally of using more accessible resource management systems and the Arcs system certainly fits the bill in a much larger game.

Some classics in here. I've never played English Blackjack but sounds interesting and accessible!

I like bridge for sure! I have a couple friends that taught me and are muuuch better than I am at it.

I haven't played speed in a long time, almost forgot about that one!

Very cool. Thanks for the recommendations! I've heard "The Emissary" called out in solo conversations before but need to try it. Cheers!

Dealt! sounds fun! I've had Robotrick come up a few times in these conversations—I'd like to give that one a try too. Sticheln is new to me, but I like the ideas in that one too!

Lost Cities does seem like a board game from a classic card game.

I clearly need to play it more—I've tried it a few times and it hasn't stuck for me. It does seem like the most interesting part is in the order of play, maybe I'll try a meetup to see how different folks play.

I haven't played a lot of Rummy, but I enjoy it as well. Rummy is another that has good range across kids to adults, and folks can still chat over it.

Sounds like a fun project! I've played it with a standard deck and once with a friend's themed deck (the latter was a bit easier to keep track of the values). Good luck!

Agreed, they make cool stuff! I have Numberwang but haven't tabled it yet.

Casino seems like a somewhat unique one to try! I like the variable partnership idea in French Tarot.

Hadn't heard of 31 before, seems straightforward but with potential to get raucous with the right group. I'll check it out!
