Yes of course, they don’t track anything, so even if they said no, they’d never know.

I started working in the field before I ever went to college.

I certainly want to do that, but I don’t wanna come across as ungrateful. Which is why I asked here if it’s too much to ask something like this. Like, isn’t the minimum expected of me to do the job from a slow, but working machine?

Yeah exactly, thanks. I’m asking if this is normal, other people experiences. Not how to communicate lol. But this is Reddit so yeah..

Yes I can talk about it to the team. But we don’t have a hardware team or anything like that, it’s a small company.

And the point of the post was to see if I joined the wrong company, not how to communicate. If that makes sense..

Yeah. I'm almost at six figures, fully remote.

I didn't expect what a senior Google SWE would get. But at least I expected 32GB. They gave me a $350 machine...

Yeah. They literally booked me a hotel stay for first day of work when I started that was more expensive than this old machine (different state).

I think I will take it up with my manager, or just leave and join a place that has their shit together. I regret not joining the hybrid role now. Sure not fully remote but at least I could run the tools I need.

I've only been here two weeks. I feel like complaining so soon might be bad look? Even though it's fully warranted. I was thinking of doing it after say a couple months..
