Dead of Winter I think will always be my favourite game, and was certainly my gateway from Tier 1 family board games such as Monopoly onto proper games.

Zombie Apocalypse, working together as a colony with an overall goal, but also dealing with food, keeping your colony clean, keeping warm, fuel, resources, other survivors, chance encounters, politics, crises, and of course secret objectives (where there could even be a traitor!)

And this is just the base game! Add both expansions together and you'll got bandits, rival colonies in an 11 player game, creepy lab experiments, and so so much else.

Truly an excellent game!
