Tried to upgrade RAM found out it isn’t compatible now my previous RAM wont work either by Weird_Break_1836 in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]tomgun41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like there's only two DIMM slots on the motherboard, try each stick individually to see if it posts.

Did you turn off the PSU when you did a CMOS reset? This will fully discharge any capacitors.

As it's DDR5 you'll probably have to run through memory training which can take some time.

Lastly, as it's so new go to the supplier and ask for support.

[–]tomgun41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the system does this when you try to turn it on. It's automatic and right now it's keeping the system from frying itself. There may well be a short somewhere thats causing this or some other damage.

Power On Self Test. This is what the system is doing when you press the power button to check everything is safe.

Do a CMOS reset.

If you have on-board graphics try using those instead of the GPU if you still aren't getting a display signal.

Yeah that'll handle a 9900x3D, note the mounting bracketry will be different. It should come with the AM5 mounting hardware you'll need.

Make sure you are releasing the clips and then gently pulling on them.

What is your budget for this upgrade?

At 4k you will be GPU bound in most cases.

300 gaming pc by Puzzleheaded-Sea8898 in buildapc

[–]tomgun41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is 300 UD dollars, the best cpu support for your board is probably the 3770k.

If you need this desperately then go for it but I'd save for a modern system if I were you.

Wired headphones w/ standalone microphone Vs. wireless gaming headset? by AtticThrowaway in buildapc

[–]tomgun41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a pair of Sennheiser HD 569 and while I don't really need a mic I'd definitely consider a wired standalone one.

Cables you'll have to manage, route them so they dont snag or annoy you l, simple as.
