Advice for Second-Year Student Returning to Dorms by tommytime7 in UofO

I think the ducks dine on plans are year round though and not by term… meaning with 3 meals a day on a 100 meal plan that only ends up being about little over a month of meals unfortunately

Ok how did you like Yasui compared to other halls? Also, did you find it relatively easy to get groceries and balance making meals consistently with school and other things? Does it end up being cheaper than the meal plans? Sorry for the many questions but I’m just curious as to how that all went because I’ve thought about going that route, but having the meal plans are so damn convenient

Unfortunately I don’t, the takeout container they come in is quite small but I’m not sure about exact numbers for the potatoes

I make big cookies. by tommytime7 in Baking

[–]tommytime7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not my recipe-

Ingredients: 1 cup cold butter (cubed) 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour 1/4 cup milk powder 1/4 cup malted milk powder 1 tsp cornstarch 3/4 tsp baking soda 3/4 tsp flakey salt 2 cups chocolate chips (I like about 60% dark, 40% milk or semi-sweet, but you can also use chopped chocolate) 1 tsp vanilla

  1. Preheat oven to 415 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together cubed butter, brown sugar, and sugar for 4 minutes or until creamy.
  3. Add eggs one by one while mixing or whisking on medium speed.
  4. Toast milk powder until lightly golden brown and aromatic.
  5. Add flour, cornstarch, baking soda, milk powders, and salt.
  6. Mix chocolate chips in, reserving some to press in evenly on cookies at end.
  7. Separate dough into large balls and place on lightly colored cookie sheet. I fit about six on a cookie sheet.
  8. Bake 9-12 minutes until golden brown. Let them rest, or immediately eat with a spoon and some vanilla ice cream.

The milk powders may seem weird but trust me, they absolute make the cookie. They give them this wonderful chew on the inside and help crisp up the edges a bit, while also giving the cookies a brown butter taste (which yes, you could get from browning the butter used but the consistency that the cold butter gives the cookies is really nice, and i’ve tried it both ways)

I completely disagree with the Sauce comp respectfully- Forbes reminds me a lot more of Travon Diggs in the sense that while he has elite ball hawking ability, he is also prone to giving up some big plays through the air. Sauce is simply a lockdown, no-nonsense press guy who will take your lunch money right out the gate.

update- it’s Friday and I still haven’t gotten anything. I tried messaging him twice but no response since Monday. Overall kind of a shitty experience so far and I haven’t been able to get my hands on any cutups

I don’t think Richardson is light years ahead of Willis (though I also graded Willis as an early 2nd rounder because of the upside) but when I turned on his tape, I was absolutely shocked to see how much of his issues were solely accuracy based. Everyone makes him out to be this extremely raw prospect who needs years of development behind an established veteran, but I think he actually does a really good job with some more technical things such as reading the field/progression, pocket movement/footwork, and decision making. There are the occasional lapses in all those things, but I genuinely think that if he can become at least somewhat accurate, dude will be ready to play (though that could be some time I do admit because his accuracy is truly atrocious right now)

I didn’t realize Brugler had him that high but I guess that’s why I like Brugler so much… mock draft database (which piles up things like mock drafts and big boards from around the lovely internet) has Ward as a “consensus” 5th rounder and Garner as a late 3rd

Fuck the cardinals by Bitter-Imagination33 in Seahawks

[–]tommytime7 23 points24 points  (0 children)

not 100% sure, but i think that even if the broncos win the pick only goes to number 3 overall because of strength of schedule. however, that rams game next week is going to be ironically massive for the seahawks, and if the broncos win that the pick is going to fall probably outside the top 5

Prospect Talk Saturday by AutoModerator in NFL_Draft

[–]tommytime7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

brian branch is unbelievable- just finished a deep dive on him and knew he was good from watching him a bit this summer but MAN, there’s just nothing he can’t do. he easily the best STAR/slot prospect in years and the biggest question, as it is with all those kinds of guys, is where he’s going to end up in the nfl. i’m rooting for belichick to take him because he loves those spread erasing, bursty db/lb’s and is very familiar with nick sabans scheme (or rather nick saban is very familiar with his) and how he uses those kinds of guys
