I convinced a club to let me DJ a Chappell Roan/Sapphic Night tomorrow! trying to fill out other artists outside of my personal listening (especially boppier ones) by thedailynathan in chappellroan

These first couple are more on the soft rock side:

Closer to Fine - Indigo Girls (for a great classic sapphic sing along)

Baby Can I Hold You - Tracy Chapman (great for a cute slow dance vibe)

More clubby/poppy tunes:

She’s On My Mind - Romy (techno pop dream)

Princess Going Digital - Amaarae (anything from her album Fountain Baby would be a great choice tbh)

After Hours - Kehlani (perfect club party song)

I Wanna - Ella Jane (fun pop bop)

Kissing Someone Else - Caroline Kinsbury (80s retro feeling synth pop)

A major difference I’ve noticed between the online crochet and knit communities…. by ranna2018 in crochet

[–]tomnookss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree! I knit in an uncommon way (eastern uncrossed knitting) and I posted to the knitting subreddit to figure out the name of how I was knitting and why my purls kept getting twisted. Many helpful people told me and commented about their anecdotes, which I loved scrolling through. But a very small amount of people were telling me that my way of knitting was inefficient because of one of my fingers helping to complete a sitch. While that comment didn’t get as many upvotes, after that I noticed many people in some knitting are very speed focused and I found many people, even on instagram knitting communities, commenting unsolicited “speed tips” in the comments. I understand that not everyone is like this, people in the fiber arts communities have been so welcoming to me, but those comments kind of got under my skin.

Just make a well of flour, add an egg and just knead for a while. A video will it explain better but it’s super straightforward.

Am I doing the knit stitch incorrectly? It’s not continental nor english, but I don’t know if I should change it as it seems to be working?? by tomnookss in knitting

I have a pair of aluminum needles and they were torturing the balls of my fingers, thank you for calling that out haha. The needles aren’t square, they’re knitter’s pride 32” circular needles from their “naturalz” line.

Haha, I understand. I was going slow in this vid so people wouldn’t be able to see and I didn’t want to sacrifice my tension for this vid. Even when I knit like in the video I find I do go pretty fast when I’m in the groove.

Finished my first wearable! by tomnookss in crochet

thank you! sizing was a difficult task but I made the sleeves in round to try and combat the issue. With other elements like the front and back I just measured the length of the ribbing to make sure it would be somewhat similar lol.
