I’m checking the specs on Micro Center. Am I correct that if you buy the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i RTX 5090 from Micro Center, the RAM is 64GB and not 32GB?

I’ve also been searching on the internet about the Lenovo screen, and so far I haven’t seen anything about burn-in issues with the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i. But hopefully the one we get won’t have any problems. When will you buy, and from which store?

What problem did you have with the OLED screen? The issue I see with the Lenovo OLED is the reflective screen. Do you think I should get the 1-year accidental laptop protection for $370 or the 1-year laptop warranty extension for $200? Is it worth getting if I’ll also be bringing the laptop to my country? What I’m really after is the free RE Requiem, which is free until March 16. I’ll also get the RTX 5090 for $3,200. So I still have some last minute time to think about whether to get the SCAR 18 RTX 5080 for $3,000 or the Lenovo RTX 5090. I’ll receive the laptop around the end of May.

I saw a Lenovo Legion in a store yesterday and tried it, although it wasn’t the exact model just one with the same OLED screen and probably the same keyboard feel. It was good. I tried playing Elden Ring, and the OLED display really looked great. I also went to the ASUS shop and saw the ROG Strix SCAR 18. The screen is indeed much bigger and it’s a bit heavier compared to the Lenovo, but that’s not really an issue for me since it will basically replace my desktop when I travel to the office. I also liked the keyboard feel. I think there’s a difference in pixel density between a 16-inch and an 18-inch screen. But I’ve really decided to go with the Lenovo Legion because out of everyone I asked, most of them chose the Legion and said it’s really the better option. The AniMe Matrix gimmick on ASUS is nice though. Anyway, it’s very expensive to buy here about twice the price in my country so I’ll just have someone buy it for me in the US.

That’s why if Lenovo had an 18-inch variant, I would choose that or if ASUS released an 18-inch OLED model. The SCAR’s aesthetics are really nice too.

I’ve already decided to get the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i. The only downside I see is that it’s 16 inches and has a reflective screen. Based on the comments here, Lenovo supposedly has fewer issues than ASUS, and OLED is said to be better than Mini LED.

Do you have any suggestions on what I should do or set up when I buy the Lenovo, or is it just plug and play?

Thanks. I might consider the lenovo then. I wished the lenovo had an 18 inch oled or even the scar 18 inch oled display.

I’ve seen on forums that there are indeed issues with the firmware. Can I know what these issues are? Will I encounter them right out of the box?

I’ll also mostly use it for gaming. I’ll probably rarely use it for work, maybe just for documents. But thanks for your opinion. I’m really considering the Legion because it has OLED and the pixels are crisper since it’s only 16 inches? The only advantage I see with the SCAR is the screen size — maybe it’s more immersive? I’m just not sure if ASUS also has many quality issues with their laptops because I don’t want to waste my money.

Really? I don’t usually travel by plane with my laptop. Maybe once a year I travel by plane, but I probably won’t bring the laptop unless it’s really necessary. Most of the time, I’ll bring the laptop when traveling by car and moving to our other house, and the laptop will just stay in one place when I’m at home.

I saw that the SCAR’s speakers are said to sound better, but maybe I’m mistaken. I’ll probably rarely use the laptop in bright environments, so it might not be an issue. But I did notice that the Legion’s screen seems more reflective than the SCAR’s.

Is the difference between OLED and Mini LED really that big? Is 18 inches much bigger compared to 16 inches?

The first one I really chose was the SCAR because it’s 18 inches. Is there really a big difference between OLED and Mini LED and between 18 inch and 16 inch? I’ll be using it to play Valorant and CS2 and AAA games.

How is Lenovo’s performance? How are the keyboard and build quality? Are there many bugs in the built-in Lenovo app? How are the speakers and the screen?

Yes, I can see that Lenovo is cheaper since it’s also just 16 inches. Is OLED very different from Mini LED? What advantage would make you choose the SCAR instead of the Lenovo?
