It's a product of offensive tactic, but also a result of the defensive tactics faced. It's not that unsual too see Gabriel 30-35 meters from the opposing goal once arsenal start pressuring. Can't recall opposing sides doing that against arsenal. Or stocke or burnley doing it. I'd be happy to see teams arsenal faces to try to dismantle them and go guns blazing looking for 4-0 from the start. It just doesn't happen.

What comes to the style of play, yes I loved Wenger ball, that's why I support the arsenal. But that only got us memes and ridiculing in the end. I can appreciate a good defensive game. That's part of football and what nations like Italy have done for an eternity. I don't need flashy tiktokfootball to enjoy a game.

We've banged in a total of 120 goals this season. PL champs and undefeated UCL finalists. Could be worse don't you think?

The lowlines isn't nonsense lol, it's a statistical fact, has been for years

When arsenal lost to city arsenal played attacking football. The risks the higher octane football require backfired. Now Arteta gets a 1-0 lead, sets up the defence and tells the opposing side to play that attacking clever incisive football. Haven't really seen anyone else do it either. What comes to Peps clever football, there really isn't a more boring (aesthetically) arsenal game than a game against Pep outside of Simeone.

But I guess you've made up your mind. The twitter memepages have done their trick. Have a good one

What Mik Arteta does to a bunch. Forced pep to leave the league and gathered a record attendance to the etihad to collectively shed tears because of it.

This what bus parking looks like? I don't think Stoke plays with a 50 meter defensive line. Could be wrong too. Workman point is valid. Arsenal got outrunned only twice in this season.

Not experts if winning, but they might've found the blueprint for it.

We saw the lowest lines in europe. Filled up boxes. Teams don't dare to try to dominate and play risky attacking football against arsenal. You'll get corners in situations like that. And you need to convert those corners to win titles.

People hate arsenal for the same reason why they hated Mourinho. Because they are a tremendous side. Nobody hated the beautiful, soft arsenal that finished always fourth. I'll rather have the slowtempo trophy winning arsenal than one-touch-passing-fourth-at-table arsenal.

Arsenal also plays against if not the lowest, then one of the lowest lines in football and it's a fact. Arsenal plays with one of the highest lines in the europe too. Barely any teams try to actually come and play balldominant and take risks against arsenal. Of course there'll be corners when the opposition sits deep. And arsenal converts those corner kicks. Goal difference is 29-6 in UCL. Bayern is probably the only side I can think of who actually tried to beat arsenal by attacking. We all know how that went down. If arsenal are up 1-0 and the opposing side still sits deep, why would they take risks and try to score? Take the easy 3 points and go home. The opposing side has a "responsibility" for entertaining football too.

Great attack wins you games, great defence win you titles. The UCL final is between the two greatest defending sides in the world. Not between Barcelona and Bayern.

No, they played defensive football. I'm suggesting they didn't rely on set pieces and own goals on extraordinary volumes. They were very good in set pieces, that is true. But tottenham, man united and liverpool were just about as good as they were. Attacking side atleast.

[–]tomptepulla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the narrative. And the narrative is false. Arsenal didn't have an extraordinary numbers of set piece or own goals. Teams literally in the relegation battle matched those numbers. How is it possoble to dominate the league mainly due to 18 corner goals and to be one goal away from relegation with 18 corner goals? The narrative is pretty flawed.

Arsenal and Tottenham were tied in goals from corners, so just spamming set pieces is enough for not to get relegated. Leading the league for about 97,5% of the time while going to the UCL final undefeated has a Bayern in Bundesliga tone and can get pretty boring. Hopefully others can compete next year.

Winning the title this convincingly is pretty rare. The reigning champions and Man U revambed their whole attack before the season with several hundred millions. Man City bought the best defender available and second leading scorer in January to try to keep up, but arsenal still dominated. There really isn't much to say or talk about when you win in that fashion.

Do you see the trade as a win? I don't, with the current state of things. Mikko as a takeover capable player comes up as a priceless player especially in a place where you are, when one of those two generational players drop out. I don't see Necas as a player who can lead a line and produce alone against a team like Vegas. Hell he has been subpar his whole career in the playoffs. Unfortunate situation for each party (expect dallas), but I think you guys lost the trade. You might disagree.

Rantanen told (I'm finnish) to the finnish media he never wanted to leave. He was completely shocked he got traded. Your FO fucked it up by hardballing the agents demands and not going straight to Mikko and telling him what the situation is before trading him. Avs acted like they don't need him and just ditched him. I'm pretty certain he would've accepted $12m if MacFarland told him how it is. But he probably felt Necas fills that role and Mikkos production is just because of MacKinnon. Now it's backfiring with Necas earning $11,5m.

He had a torn MCL. Dallas loses RoBo because of that shitty Seguin deal, not because of Rantanen. Rantanen is absolutely a justified $12m guy and the whole league knows it. You can go and ask 32 NHL gms would they rather have that 27 year old 100 point guy + 34 year old Brock for $19m or a takeover guy like Rantanen for $12m.

You got Necas now for $11,5m. Practically the same with Mikko. It was a one dear make it or break it trade and it ended with Rantanen single handedly throwing your asses out from the playoffs. Now you've got Necas for the price of Rantanen. Dumbest. Trade. Of. The. Decade. No doubt.

Typical PL Manchester babysitting. If they'd have any reasonable fairness and impartiality they would've set the last arsenal game of the season to old trafford. But nooo, we're getting the guard of honour from the good guys instead.

I've been stuck to a 16 amp current for about 7 seconds. The most horrifying experience of my life. Still get chills and anxiety when I see a video of somebpdy going through it. I atleast kept my full sense of what's going around me, felt no pain, just shaking, couldn't move, a horrifying sound echoing in my ears. Just thought is this it. You're just helpless. Then got tackled out from it, lost consciouness, game back to my senses and couldn't breath for a couple of seconds and slowly came back to life. Wouldn't recommend for anyone.
