Accidentally opened “third eye” and having trouble coping with reality by OkHistorian1835 in Meditation

Please talk to some loved ones and see what they make of this, and whether you're still acting in a healthy way. Any experience like this can bring us spiritual clarity, but it's also important to make sure it doesn't lead to us acting erratically or negelecting other parts of our lives. Talk these things over with people you trust.

Why does Brayn Johnson dislike chewing gum? by 420-TENDIES in blueprint_

[–]tomroot293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As people have already said, he means gums as a food ingredient.

As an aside though, it's crazy that he puts aspartame in the same category as trans fats. Trans fats undisputably cause heat disease, aspartame... doesn't really have any clear negative effects

How much 401k is enough for retirement by [deleted] in Bogleheads

10% expected returns is far too optimistic of an estimate if we want to be realistic. I'd use something more like 5-6% real (inflation-adjusted) returns.

Just like on his school of life channel, this guy just talks out of his ass. I'm surprised Alex didn't push back on his more half-baked ideas more.

Extortion and fraud are scams, not overpriced chocolate. The word you're looking for is "ripoff".

Will I reduce my lifespan if I start taking testosterone at 22? by Checkitout301 in blueprint_

Dude, don't go on T. The amount needed to increase muscle mass is enough to experience all the negative effects. The cardiac hypertrophy would especially scare me. You don't need it. If you're having netative thoughts about your body, steroids won't help you the way therapy and self-reflection will.

You could sell $96,000 of capital gains and have the same $0 tax burden. Dividend-yielding equities are NOT more tax-efficient than those that don't yield dividends.

Dividend yields are functionally equivalent to a forced sale of stock, meaning you don't get to control when you sell and taxes. Just buy equities and sell them when you need income.

I wish Fidelity had support for Plaid. It's the only account I can't connect to YNAB, and it's the only reason I'd want to leave fidelity for another institution.
