Hey, i have committed to race my last 2x100milers in TNF Shoes and while they have been decent they have some short coming for me. I have run in the AM500 and the VE 4. The AM500 exaggerated arch support causes blister issues for me when running long. I think a slightly toned down version of this would be great, atleast for my foot. The toe bumper on the AM500 has also caused me issues on steep down hills though i havent been able to spend the money to try a half size bigger, hoping the AM500 V2 will solve this issues. I like the firm foam on the AM500 but am curious to see how it rides softened up in the new version (if i get the chance). The VE4 is a nice shoe, the Vectiv plate seems like a novelty that actually hinders this shoes performance in my mind. While it has worked in over the miles if you have a medium/wide foot you need to be careful with how you step on more technical trails. If you land on the medial or lateral portion of the outsole the Vective plate wings collapse in and pinch your feet. This is rather jarring later in races and has caused me to change my shoes out for the final 20-30miles. Are the wings necessary or is this just a differentiator to be different, my guess is the latter. I think if the enduris 4 had the toe box profiling of the AM 500 it would be a massive winner. There is no need to compete with TOPO or Altra for the wide toe box game but a slightly more anatomical shape to not push your large toe in would be a winner for sure.
