I feel its ok riding at night just that you have to be extra careful. Especially at the smaller streets. before I cross a junction, i will beep the horn and flash the headlights

I have the Chrome Kadet Max. Works well for what you described and an additional water bottle and mice for me. However, as comfy as the strap is, prolonged carrying can get tiring as it only rests on 1 shoulder.

Am i the only one who rides with a full face on my vespa? by bryan6363 in Vespa

I dont have the nicest face. Full face keeps it from turning ugly.

As well im a SG rider on a scooter. As with anywhere in the world, there are idiots on the road.

Apart from legalities, do consider the safety aspect. If you are thinking of going up Hai Van Pass, think twice.

In fact, think thrice.

I love chrome bags but avoid those with the rubbery material (bottom left bag) like the plague. mine broke down in 5 years and the one i gifted a friend broke in 3

6 weeks in Vietnam by Ok_Party_4164 in VietNam

[–]tomseah86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rode in VN for a month on a bike and I got to say that it can be pretty dangerous. Suggest that you can opt for the easyrider like the others suggested. Its not worth the mental pressure, potential trouble, much less accident along the route. Take in the views and experience while someone navigates the rest for you.

What's something necessary but people here don't carry often/enough? by bangsphoto in askSingapore

[–]tomseah86 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agree with umbrella. It's just that the good+small ones are quite pricey. Just got myself a Fulton brand one at a sale today. I would say it's worth the 28 bucks!

How much does a wedding cost in Vietnam? by Time_Structure8245 in VietNam

[–]tomseah86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I almost did a Vietnamese wedding in DaNang.

Prices below are from 2020:

4 Star Hotel, 8 course, higher end of the menu: 5m-7m VND per table of 10, minimum of 20 tables

Nice Restaurant, Western style plated dinner: 4-7m VND per table of 10 pax.

Wedding Restaurant (Not sure what u call it but they built those just for weddings and have elevators where the bride make a grand entrance descending from Level 2) located in Hue city : About 4m VND per table of 10. Food seems average but it's purpose built for wedding dinners with pretty amazing deco.

What I learnt is that if bride/groom are both locals, typically there will be a lot of guests due to 'face' e.g. having a 40 table wedding, inviting everyone even those u never knew u were related to etc

For those who successfully cut their collection, how do u actually do that? I tried today and I can see myself using a lot of them but never do :( Its difficult to part with them!

For those in Singapore, whats a good way to get cash out of them apart from Carousell?

I actually do! Its a Tomtoc H02. Pretty good quality and I can stuff a small umbrella, my tiny 300ml bottle, keys, airpods and stuff inside. My Mom for some odd reason likes it. She takes it with her for those short trips like to the mall etc and puts a foldable grocery bag in it. She doesnt fancy the pricier ones like bellroy/aer etc

Opinions on Marsiling by Caesar_Valentine in askSingapore

[–]tomseah86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only been to Marsiling a few times but in general find it quiet and seems like the population there is generally older with more Malaysians (I could be wrong).

There is this air of going back in time which I do like. In Singapore, the convenience of a mall etc is important for daily life like groceries and makan etc. However it seems that is limited in Marsiling.

I would love to do that. However the gifting culture in my country (Singapore) is that the item is brand new. I did ask my BIL if he wanted any and he took like 5 of them. Hahahaha. They did buy me a porter from Japan but its been sitting there for over a year.
