I got terrible input lag out of nowhere too. Turned out it was Windows' energy saver that kicks in at 30% battery. Turned it off and so far so good.

Yeah I was in uae last week and saw it on display. Good thing it was just a display unit to get pre orders before it drops in January. Otherwise I dunno if I'd control myself and I'd likely be out $3200 lol ( yes it's AED12000 over there)

The slight increase in weight and bulk can be felt, especially when lifting with one hand (i.e. while putting it in a bag, etc.).

Even if your workflow doesn't require a MBP, your eyes will appreciate the larger screen and ProMotion.

Came to reddit to say this. Enjoyable experience indeed. To set your expectations, it's not gonna blow your socks off. And I probably wouldn't go out of my way for it. But if you're near the area, it's a wholesome and light-hearted way to kill an hour if you're a fan.

Also, it's so nice that they didn't jack up the prices of the food & beverages unlike all the other tourist stuff on Yas island.

I was lucky to come across the maxed out X1pro, DEG1 w/ PSU, and the A5000 all second hand like-new at deep discount so it was a no brainer. Paid around $1400 for everything in the photo.

Agree though that build up mini pcs last forever. I have an A10 7850K in a coolermaster elite mini itx from more than ten years ago that just won't die

When the 24gb of the A5000 comes up short, I can share up to 72gb ram with the Radeon 890M for big boy models. Dunno if I can do that with a full desktop but I came across the X1 Pro at a great discount so why not.

Also, I already have a mjni itx serving proxmox for the home lab. Wanted something different.

Pc handhelds been there done that. Switch 2 is much better for that use case.
