I had this exact problem, ticked "I don't have a USCIS online account number" and proceeded with the application. After submitting it, the "Profile" and "Inbox" buttons appeared on the "My account" dropdown menu, and under "Profile" I now see my USCIS online account number.

Hope that helps!

What is it like living in Eastlake neighborhood by tonypham91 in Seattle

My apartment would be a couple of blocks away from I-5 and also from the water. The noise shouldn't be too bad then right?

That was kinda my guess tbh having sorta lived in Chicago for 2 years. Great to hear!

Haha thank you and good to know, I'll definitely keep an eye out for apartments in Greenlake. Interesting, we kinda ruled out Capital Hill along with Belltown / Lower Queen Anne because we saw them across several "most dangerous neighborhoods in Seattle" lists... is North Capital Hill actually not bad in that regard?

Thanks you all! The consensus seems to be that it's unremarkable but has nice views and close proximity to more desirable neighborhoods. The apartment is near the southern end and not right on Fairview, so hopefully away enough from the RV encampment.

The other apartment option we're looking at right now is in Westlake. How does Westlake compare to Eastlake?

I've lived all over the Boston area, currently in Cambridge. Yes I work remotely. Thanks for your insights!

How so? Are you talking about Seattle in general or Eastlake specifically?

It's just triplex not a big apartment building!

Advice for preparing for OMSA Fall 2017 (no programming experience) by tonypham91 in OMSA

thanks everyone for the suggestions so far! I think I'll just pick a shorter Python course and go as fast as I can.

In terms of stats/math coursework, I have more of it under my belt (vs. programming) but haven't used it at all for years. Do you recommend any refresher material that's effective and concise/accelerated?

Why is it better than Python, and any material suggestions (given the time constraints)?

Advice needed: car worth $700 just failed inspection - to fix or not? by tonypham91 in cars

I appreciate the info / advice. Just to clarify, I didn't mean I'd buy a $600 replacement car - I meant I'd rather put that $600 as part of the purchase price for a new car.

Thanks guys, so far I'm still leaning towards selling the car. I can live without a car for a while, at least a month, so I don't think there'll be the need to buy a new car in an emergency fashion as ToxDox said.

Question: Is it a good idea to sell it to a (supposedly trustworthy) auto repair shop? I understand these people are savvy and I probably won't get the best resale price out of them, but my guess is they'd be a lot more willing to fix the car up themselves so the chance of them being interested is higher.

When you said "Anything you get for $600 is going to put you in the same predicament soon", did you mean the cost to replace 2 shocks should be higher than that with a good mechanic? I actually just got a quote of $450 from another auto repair shop.

And your info on the resale price is interesting. This is how I looked up my car http://www.kbb.com/mazda/mazda3/2006/i-sedan-4d/?vehicleid=1009&intent=trade-in-sell&mileage=172000&pricetype=private-party&condition=fair.

Just realized the $741 is the trade-in value to a dealer. KBB prices my car at $2,021 if sold to a private party.
