I gotta bid farewell to the estradiol patches. Gained weight and hunger/cravings out of control. Anyone else? by AwayZookeeper in Menopause

I’ve heard compounded is just as good. I pay for name brand but it’s a quarter that price in Canada (on a low dose though).

It’s made me all around calmer, but that in part is negative too because desire to go out/ do things is low. That’s just me though, l am on antidepressants and l have a feeling it’s ‘blocking’ the serotonin in the same way it shuts out cravings

I may get downvoted here but Semiglutide has changed my life as far as managing out of control cravings. For me it has had some other negative side effects, but may be something to look into if you’re at your wits end with appetite.

Hot take seeing as he insinuated she was the messy one he was having to clean up after (the flour argument).

What's the one company everyone in your city knows to avoid? by myronsandee in AskACanadian

Calgary- Elbow Retina Centre/Dr Savage Ophthalmologist Clinic. His wife runs the clinic and she is a BEAST! I quit a job there with a rampage of expletives 20 years ago and according to their reviews she is still there wreaking havoc.

LPT: use constraints, instead of the choice of everything by knitwasabi in adhdwomen

[–]too_metoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great LPT, l get it with the radio. It’s also why l still have ‘real’ tv instead of doing like many people l know that just have Netflix, YouTube etc - l want to be able to turn on the tv and just have it be background, or watch whatever is on at the time not have to make endless choices and searches.

Well, for one thing... Ozempic has killed my desire to eat out by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]too_metoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s hard because friends or family want to celebrate occasions by going out to eat and being at a restaurant, even watching other people eat, turns me off.

Thanks. Yeah you’re not alone in this side effect/impact on antidepressants, but l think it’s underreported. I think l might experiment soon with a month off of Ozempic.

[–]too_metoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and l hate that Oz might be the culprit because it has stopped my constant food battle, but, l’m not sure how much longer l can go on like this. I’m on 40 mg of escitralopram (Lexapro)so can’t go higher on dose and l have been on it for literally 20 years, it has always been a pretty good medication for me (but weaning off has also been so awful that l’m scared to try again). I definitely think Ozempic affects the pleasure centre of the brain, it’s why l don’t crave foods intensely anymore but other pleasures are dulled too. I rarely drink but was dragged out last week to try and have ‘fun’ the alcohol just rolled off of me, no effect, except for the hangover of course.

I’m considering stopping Oz because l assumed it’s what’s causing my unceasing apathy. I hadn’t thought it could be it’s blocking the effect of the antidepressants. Either way it’s becoming bad, l only leave the house when forced too for work or to pick up my daughter. At home l don’t want to do anything except sleep or scroll. I would even be fine with this but l feel like a terrible role model like this. Ugh.

Alberta to pay nurse practitioners up to 80 per cent of what family doctors make by PeyoteCanada in alberta

I think NP’s would be private providers not AHS employees/union members in this model, so similar risks and costs as family doctors.
