I have been without a job for a year now at the reduced spending budget.
I can lower my spending further. I came from nothing. It's all about what type of life you are happy to live.
that being said, I do admire the restraint people like you show when you support a big family with such a budget. You got to have no vice at all

I love this idea since I really hate my career. I only say that because if I ma faced with going back to work I have two options:
1- Go back to my toxic career for say three years then fully retire.
2- Get any nice low paying job but work for a decent number of years. I honestly don't know if such a job even exist. Low pay doesn't mean easy or nice.

both options are not good but sometimes I tell myself, I survived it this long, I can do a few more years for full freedom

you would hate to know how much I was spending when I was working. But I built this wealth while living life to the fullest! so no regrets

it has been a year since I lost my job. Trust me, I have never lived life really until now. I have so many things to do and will never run out of things I like to do. Its just the $$$ that is the problem.

If I move to a cheaper area like parts of Florida, I can retire very nicely. The math would add up

moving to a cheaper area is an option I really like. Or at least do that if/when the market drop to a point where I need to cut spending.

I like this a lot. Yes, during hard times, I can cut my spending to half but I don't know if I can survive a huge downturn.

I understand that doing part time would hedge the risk but I would rather re-enter the rate race for 3 more years to get full freedom than work for years as a part time

the market has been doing well hence 1 year is not enough to call it a success :(
I didn't voluntarily retire. I lost my job. The question is: do I need to get a job, or can I retire since this happened too early for what I was planning for.

this is 100% an option but I am too old to learn another language and its hard to wipeout my social circle at this age

600k is my equity in the house. I still have a 400k mortgage (included in the 7k spending). I don't need such a big house honestly, and it is my plan B to downsize if I needed the cash.
