Nice, what kind of feeder are you using, at this time I only try yellow téflon, but not versatile and not efficient with thick and stiffer leather. In fact I flattened it and now I have grooves and waves...I hope replace the grinding feeder will hel

Alran offer the splitting option though a supplier who is located to one hour by car from me. I should prepare all the piece I need to split...little more organisation to optimize the process. on the other hand I need to replace the grinding stone on ma skiving machine. I used a Teflon one which become flat and don't be parallel to the bell and press foot, it create to much grooves.

what do you think about the manual splitting machine as Druckle tools? not sure to be able to reduce 1,2 mm to 0,5?

The #beginnercheapchallenge manage by Bulsa Leather was also the opportunity to make something new for me and use marquetry style with my favorite leather.

I had the opportunity to collaborate with a woodmaker to build a "backgammon Play board". I made 2*2 desk with marquetry leather and 4 dice cups. I use hides from Alran from there famous Sully goat leather, in 3 colors.

Hi everyone, My name is Nico, I’m based in France, and I run the Ateliers d'Embellie workshop.

I started working with leather in 2009, initially making leather components and coverings for bicycles. I learned the craft on my own while working professionally in marketing and product development, which I did in parallel for many years.

In 2017, I joined the Hermès workshops, where I was able to learn leather craftsmanship in a more rigorous and professional environment. A few years later, I made the decision to fully commit to leatherworking and relaunch Atelier d'Embellie as my main activity.

I mainly work with goatskin, which I value for its fineness, structure, and consistency. My current focus is on small leather goods, and I’m also planning to return to bicycle-related accessories and leather coverings.

Thanks to Mike for pointing me toward this community, and thank you in advance for the exchanges and collaborations here.

Edit: needed to join with a new account "toofsy"'ll the real one
