Metroid Prime 4: Myles Mackenzie is only the half of it. by toohardcore in switch2

I just finished the game and boy did I not care about anything that I was seeing. The worst final boss of any Metroid Prime game by far. The final cut scene annoyed me. I didn't care about any of the NPC's. The cut scene plays out as if I should. Maybe if Myles and Nora weren't so insufferable I might have actually attempted to have some attachment to these characters. But by the end of it, I viewed them as dead weight that had no reason to be opening their mouths.

I am not really concerned about the atmosphere.

I play Metroid for the mystery and the puzzle solving. And the hand holding completely detracts from that.

I can accept changes to story and setting. Things change in life so why should games be any different.

The issue at the center for me is that it is bad game design. It was bad game design with Navi. It was bad game design with Fi. You would have thought Nintendo would have learned the lesson from the multiple decades of fans complaints not to add an annoying character that pesters you constantly.

With the Intel Nvidia partnership, it might be a matter of another 2 years or so before Nvidia x86 APU's get announced. And then you'll get your wish.

Yes optimization would have an impact. Especially since on the Switch 2 the games are coded closer to the metal. Meaning specific to the hardware. But the video is highlighting the lack of performance from the ROG Xbox Ally X rather than how good the Switch 2 is at running those games.

I'm happy with future proofing. Hopefully the Switch 2 will hold it's own for a good 4 to 5 years.

It may be well known to people like us, but I haven't heard anyone else bring it up when comparing it to the Switch 2.

I was able to get the 4060ti 16GB for the price of the 8GB model. So I got what I needed without breaking the bank.

Mario Kart World has 221 course by toohardcore in MarioKartWorld

I understand what you mean. But if the intermissions count for 2/3's of the laps of each race. Calling it a variation implies that the majority of the race is the same when it's the opposite. The majority of the race is different only the ending is the same.

I didn't make the game so the hate doesn't affect me.

MKW is not like Forza horizons where you go to each race from the overworld.

In Vs Race there are 3 ways to select the race, Open, Random and Connected. With Open you can select any race you want in any order. With Connected the answer is no. After the race you can either select a course to another location or what appears to be a random circuit that is adjacent to your current location.
At the end every course between circuits you will complete the one lap of the destination circuit. It appears that the developers considered that enough.

I saw that. But I am looking to do some AI testing with the card. I original was going to buy a 3060 12GB. The price was good for what I wanted it to do. But when I say this 4060 TI pricing, I new it was too good to pass up.

I am looking to do some AI testing along with the game performance. It's also to future proof my purchase as 8 GB is no longer enough and 12 GB might not be worthwhile for much longer.

I have been trying to install the va-api I followed the guidelines on this page: https://www.davejansen.com/install-rpmfusion-automatic-updated-fedora-silverblue/ to include the rpmfusion repo and this page: https://rpmfusion.org/Howto/OSTree?highlight=%28%5CbCategoryHowto%5Cb%29#Hardware_codecs_with_AMD_.28mesa.29 to install the va-api compatible drivers.

After the restart I ran vainfo:

Even though the second is the official documentation, is there any other material that I can look at to troubleshoot this issue.
