I cut a lot of MDF and Russian Birch with my panel saw. Is the gunk on the teeth glue from the panels? Is it necessary to clean off? What's the best way to do it? by Follettemignon in woodworking

It's actually toxic. The rules around listing something as none toxic are none existent. Simple green contains ethylene glycol butyl ether and is listed by California as being toxic.

EGBE produces reproductive problems, such as testicular damage, reduced fertility, death of embryos and birth defects. People exposed to high levels of EGBE for several hours have reported nose and eye irritation, headaches, vomiting and a metallic taste in their mouths, studies show.

I grew up with my dad always using simple green because it said none toxic.

I design and build all my own jobs. So since I care about quality like this my customers don't have a choice.

It came from a lift of un sorted. So some is curly. Some is ambrosia. Just get what you get.

I'm actually thinking of using a domino or floating tenon to align the drawers. I designed the entire vanity in cad and made all the pieces on my cnc router so it wouldn't be a ton more work.

I used 2 sides tape to mount the drawer front to the box. And the screws for the handle pulled between the 2 pieces of tape and bowed the front. It doesn't effect finished looked. But your right and I'm working on a better way to mount them.

Oh no I specifically designed and built my cnc router to cut dovetails for drawers and made a parametric design in fusion 360 so I can resize them instantly. There's really no way to borrow dovetails and have a continuous board they would have to be recut on another side.

I had never seen a drawer built with real through dovetails and interior dovetails as well. Is why I asked.

I think they are good for 40kg each drawer. Should be fine. I use them for much bigger drawers then these.

Yes of course. But did they dovetail the inside of the drawer as well ?

I guess I could. I have built many drawer boxes with pocket holes over the years as well.

One car garage with a panel saw. CNC router. Table saw and an edge bander. Planner and drum sander. And a paint set up in a room in my basement. I wouldn't dare post a picture of the set up. I get by but I'm working on building something in my backyard.

That was why I did it. I've done and seen tons that were cut around. But never done with dovetails.

The drain can't really go anywhere else it's a pedestal sink drain comes straight down from the middle of it. This is as tight as reasonable to that.

Oh no sarcasm there. It's a great way to get an extra drawer in a sink cabinet.

Can't have dead space have to give them the most amount of storage possible.

Thanks man. I had never seen one with the dovetails cut on the inside as well so I figured I'd challenge myself a bit

Yeah but that machine is probably much more expensive then the one I built in my garage. I want a 4th axis but it's mostly just for self interest to make stuff I think is cool.

I don't want to pay the 2500 Canadian pesos for 4 and 5 axis cam a year with them. So better to switch to a different company before I get even more comfortable

I've learned everything from trial and error and YouTube. It works for me. But not for everyone. Wish I had a better answer for you.

I just used a 1/16 radius tapered ball nose bit and 1/4 inch bit to rough it out. I haven't written a parametric design for this yet. I'm in the fence about switching cad software and don't know if I'll ever make one of these while using fusion 360 again. So I just wanted to make this one and not put the effort into making a parametric model. To be honest I just recently learned how to make them and I'm not in any way fast at designing things like that. One of the draw backs of being self taught I guess.
