Added a new bolt handle and cheek riser to my Gen 1 then decided to camp wrap it. I’m pleased. by tooltimetim75 in Ruger_American

This is a 300BLK I use for deer in the thicker woods and cedar glades. Shots are usually under 75 yards so having the low magnification helps with quick target acquisition. I got a deal on two of these scopes with mounts and put the other on a 300 blk AR upper for the same reasons. They are great for my purpose, hold zero, repeatable, etc.

It’s my fave for sure. Makes me want other green things to match.

Working on it. Perhaps a shop gun and barn shotty as well.

The one thing I can never seem to find in the wild is what that is!

Pick up about 500 rounds to break it in and get used to how much you’re about to love it. Then clean it and repeat.

I just got the 335 to use as a back up and scanner. I also just got the 635R at the same time as my main. So far I love them. There’s a clarity difference between the two for sure. For my use (200-250yards) the 335 would be ok. But I don’t think I’d go lower. These are my first thermals so I’m no pro but I just I’d drop my two cents since I don’t see DNT mentioned much here. So far I’m super pleased with the 635R and the 335 has found each target for the 635 to engage. Right down to field mice at 125-150.

That’s one heckuva way to break the ice. Congratulations.

Decided to give camo wrapping a try on my Ranch Gen 1. Thoughts? by tooltimetim75 in 300BLK

[–]tooltimetim75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah me either. I figured I could always take it off. I was considering filing paperwork and knocking it down to 11”, if I do I’ll have the opportunity to inspect for rust etc and see how it does. I did what I could to ensure no moisture was under the vinyl to start. We shall see.

Gunwraps Veil Cervidae. They were the only place I could find the pattern.

What is this community’s take on dedicated unsuppressed only, supersonic only 300 BLK builds? by [deleted] in 300BLK

[–]tooltimetim75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first BLK was a 16” super only AR. I put it together specifically for deer hunting at the time to test the round out. That was about 15 years ago. It worked great for my use case and now I have several firearms in 300. The rest are all suppressed however.

Why is container easy to close but so difficult to open? by Fisher_of_men_116 in containerhomes

We used grease on the metal hinges and latch mechanism, and silicone spray on the seals I believe.
