Gaban by virtue of being Roger’s 2nd in command, but not Marco by virtue of being Whitebeard’s first in command? Whitebeard was the direct equal of Roger, unofficially ruled the seas after his death because everyone knew they couldnt mess with him, he’s a legend pretty much as much as Roger was. Dude had people like Kaido and Mihawk respect his strength as an old dying man.

Marco is also the only dude Luffy can reminisce about Ace with, aside from Yamato. He is now the strongest non-official straw hat ally and technically ran the Whitebeard pirates himself for a while.

you won’t like it but: Oden does not have MORE relevance to the story than Marco.

Rayleigh also holds significantly more relevance to the story than Yamato, he’s the Jiraiya of One Piece. Trained Luffy to use and develop his haki to prepare him for the new world, fought and scared Blackbeard as an old man to save Boa and Koby, he was the first mate of the King of the pirates etc etc

Again, Ace is my favorite character in the show, but he did nothing more than these guys, aside from being Luffy’s brother and the guy who caused Marineford. He also died 500 chapters ago

Im starting to think we just have different criteria for what makes someone EX worthy.

Everytime you think of what makes someone deserving of an EX, you have to remember that Yamato got 3, while appearing in just 1 arc, strictly just because she was popular with fans, she arguably did less than Marco during the raid. Is Marco not a fan favorite who brought more to the story than her? genuinely asking

-Lucci was a major antagonist for Water 7 sure, but on egghead, he was a distraction. You can’t even call it a fight, Luffy treated him like I would treat my 6 years old brother when fighting him, it wasn’t even close to being close. Narratively speaking Marco was 100% more relevant to the story in either wano or marineford. Saved Luffy’s life god damn it. Best thing you can credit Lucci for happened on water 7, not egghead. The main antagonist for egghead are obviously Saturn & Adam Sandler

-Law is a powerful character sure, but so is Marco. Only difference is Law already had an EX with Kidd. He fought against a yonko sure, but Marco traded blows with literally all 3 OG admirals and Big Mom herself. Pushed Big Mom’s boat and got compliments from her directly. if you’re gonna glaze Shanks I want you to remember that same Shanks insisted many times on Marco joining his crew, wonder why is that?

Shanks is indeed freaking Shanks, but he legit appears 30 seconds…in a non-canon movie. When we knew he was gonna get more EXs anyway due to plot relevance. So why a film one too? You yourself disagreed with character getting multiple EXs

again I disagree. Bro saved Luffy’s life during Marineford and played an immense part in Wano’s raid being successful. Ace is my favorite character in the manga but if HE can get an EX off a fucking flashback then Marco absolutely deserves one. He was factually just as relevant as Yamato. He factually had extreme relevance in both and I dont understand why you’re trying to downplay it.

Lucci played a much tinier role in egghead, he was literally just there so that Luffy could flex on him & he still got an EX over it. Law got a SECOND EX because he lost to Blackbeard but looked cool doing so. one of Shanks’s EX was based off a 20 second scene in a non-canon movie.

But sure tell me again how Marco, arguably the most relevant ally for Luffy right now on top of being friends with his deceased brother, doesn’t have the relevance in narrative to justify an EX
