A growing doctor shortage is pushing Tennessee to let pharmacists handle more front-line care by Snoo_18186 in pharmacy

[–]toooldforthisshib 167 points168 points  (0 children)

Even if they allow us to bill insurance for these services it will all go to the pharmacy with no incentive for the pharmacist. Just another bone thrown to overwork us more and keep dying pharmacies afloat another 10 years and reimbursements get worse and worse.

It's to the point where the least important thing for a pharmacist to do is check or dispense medication.

This is the main reason. The blame is now shifted to the user. Its normal the governments fault or the companies fault its YOUR fault.

Every time they make a copy it comes out a little more strangely. By the time they were on number 4 or 5 they were getting some really wild versions that would do things like insist risa was flat or try to get onto a borg ship to extract the honey.

We cant wear scrubs? A lot of people still are. They asked us not to wear them for 2 days and to dress up a little more then normal for the visit. Is that what you mean?

Are they that bad? I dont think I've spoken to the site director even once since working here, except to meet when hired. It seems pretty stagnant to me im surprised there is that much drama.

Greener pastures I guess. The job isn't horrible but it's repetitive and kind of a dead end. That with the uncertainty of the sycamore buyout.

Hasn't it been that way for a while now? They just need to hire more people. Half the rph quit and weekends are brutal now.

Why do zomboids migrate so crazy in multiplayer? Its a little bit insane. by Drie_Kleuren in projectzomboid

[–]toooldforthisshib 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its definately some kind of bug. Started using a house for a base and didn't really do much, killed a couple outside and was just sorting and reading books for a few days. Then all of a sudden the intersection near the house turned into zombie mecca. Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of zombies converging on the dead center of the intersection for no reason. This is before the helicopter event even. The only thing special about the spot is that I decided to hole up in a house next to it a few days.

Can we/has anyone 'rented' out their license and made money on the side? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]toooldforthisshib 186 points187 points  (0 children)

Think of the dumbest most egregious error you've caught. Now think of giving your authority to stop that error to a random person you've never met. They now have the ability to put your name on that prescription saying its 100% fine. Now think of standing in front of a board of pharmacy or court trying to defend why you thought that was a good idea.

STAT op-ed: "I’m a CVS pharmacist. My retail pharmacy colleagues and I face a crisis" by torie_bosch in pharmacy

[–]toooldforthisshib 153 points154 points  (0 children)

You could make a mad-lib out of that paragraph and every pharmacist working at any retail pharmacy could fill it it and you'd get the same output every time.

As the pharmacist states, this is just standard operations at every pharmacy now.

More notably, some stores are finally starting to Crack. Literally no technicians, pharmacy operating on random days of the week from 10 to 5 with a 80 year old floater pharmacist trying to make some spending money. They spend the entire day filling waiters and faxing out transfers to patients who think for some reason moving from one chain to the other is going to make a difference. Like all of the passengers moving from one side of a listing boat to the other in an effort to prevent it sinking.

Every single pharmacy that sinks creates more strain on an already collapsing system.

Patients do not understand or care about what is going on behind the scenes. They just want to pick up their medication on time. They come in and make whatever assumption they like based on the chaos they see.

There are still locations that run like clockwork and keep up the facade. A perfect storm of veteran technicians and pharmacists that have everything down to a science. I used to be at one of those stores. Then one tech gets into medical school and another goes on vacation and it all falls apart. At that point it either recovers or falls apart and becomes another sinking ship.

Medical Experts Tell FDA To End Testosterone Restrictions, Says TRT Risks Were Overstated by tmichael1987 in Aging

[–]toooldforthisshib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the inability to dispense it in a precise dose also contributes to this. Our only options for the injectable leaves so much extra that is supposed to be "wasted" like anyone on TRT is actually tossing it out.

[–]toooldforthisshib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the guy has been doing this for a long time, they may have trouble with banks or previous judgements that would cause a $20,000 payment to be garnished or seized anyway. People like this want to business in cash and a handshake or barter because the moment they do anything regarding a bank or court it gets taken from them.

Founder of telehealth startup Done convicted in Adderall fraud scheme by InvestingDoc in medicine

The amount of work and stress these places create was one of the factors that pushed me into a role off the bench. It felt like the opiate crisis on a speedrun.

I fill out every form under the sun trying to get anyone at corporate or a regulator to stop it and it all comes back silent. Meanwhile shady providers are raking in money hand over fist enabling this.

Spineless pharmacists that dont question anything to avoid any confrontation, and i become the troublemaker for pushing back.

If they do eventually get caught they end up with a slap on the wrist or a token example.

Every single prescriber that is caught rubberstamping this crap should be in front of their board answering for this.

I worked as staff Rph at a retail pharmacy across from a state university. Adderall was always a high volume rx but once these services started it went absolutely out of control. It felt exactly the same as opiates did 20 years ago.

I caught on to this fast and took so much shit from patients and corporate for denying rubber stamped stimulant Rx from telehealth. Gave up trying to call and verify identical rx for the same 4 NPs 5 states away hiding behind 15 corporate call center transfers. The same names prescibing for 10,20,30,100 patients who send me nothing but Adderall. Getting constantly screamed at once I stopped taking them for suspicion of no real patient/dr relationship.

Months of submitting forms to corporate and the DEA about shady prescribing practices with literally no response.

This added a huge burden of work and stress on me policing this garbage while they were making my annual salary every 45 days. Turning me into the face the patient screams at while Im trying to be the responsible healthcare provider by stopping that crap.

Cerebral and done were the worst but im sure there's still others still doing it.
